Could you guys chance me for NYU CAS and UVa (instate) ? Both regular decision. Thank you for your time.

Are the non-AP courses honors ones?

NYU: Match
UVA: Match/high match

Both are matches/high matches, UVa in state means it won’t be too hard to get in. Good essays will make your application

UVA & NYU will be matches.
Good luck!

Both are matches, with UVa a little harder. Your grades are lower than the average student, so use your strong ECs to strengthen your application.

Unfortunately, family tragedy/death has been an overdone essay topic.

@Catria Yea I took honors. These were my non-AP courses in HS.

Freshman Year - Biology Honors
Geometry Honors
English 9 Honors
Pre-AP World History
Spanish 3
P.E/Health
Introduction to Business/Marketing
Algebra 2

Sophomore Year - English 10 Honors
Chemistry
Math Analysis (Pre-Calculus + Calculus AB overview)

Junior Year - English 11 Honors

Senior year - Creative Writing / Philosophy (semester classes)
U.S and Virginia Government (academic)

Not that I’m not encouraged by what you’ve all said, but how can NYU and especially UVa be matches for me? I don’t know all that much about NYU’s nature of selectivity but from what I’ve seen UVa seems to be all about (almost ONLY about) GPA. And as you can see my junior year sticks out like a sore thumb. And I’m very afraid that my senior year semester grades, regardless of improvement, won’t be able to save me.

anyone else opinions please?

NYU: High match/low reach.
UVA: High Match

Fingers crossed!

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1426652-ohio-state-chances.html#post15139798

I think you’ll get in NYU CAS! (Sorry, I’m not familiar with UVA). Your ECs are pretty unique and you have a strong GPA and SAT.

What major are you doing? I also applied for NYU CAS, but I did Early Decision I. :stuck_out_tongue: Care to chance me back?
