NYU Class of 2017 Student... help?

Hi! My name is Camillia, and I'll be in the Liberal Studies program at NYU this fall.

I'm just looking for some advice as far as professors go, and I'll take any study tips you guys have to offer. I was a very hardworking and determined student in high school, maintaining A's all four years in honors and AP courses, but of course, college is a whole new world.

My dream career is in the field of dentistry. I'll be pursuing an English major (don't hold me to that; I'm meeting with the Pre-Health department and my adviser in August in order to select a field that will differentiate me as a dental student), while taking Pre-Health courses (I'm starting with General Chemistry 1 this semester).

Here are some of the topics that I could use tips on:

Maintaining a job while studying: how many hours should be worked a week? best jobs?

Clubs and extracurriculars: how much time should be devoted, best ones to join, etc.

Honors societies: are any available?

Studying: to any med students or students in general... best way to study, keep my GPA high and still enjoy all the city has to offer?

Dorm room: any tips for my dorm room and maintaining it. I'll be rooming in Rubin.

Dining halls: which halls have the best (and freshest) meals?

Professors: how are the professors in the LS program?

Exercise: I'm big on staying fit, so what's the best way (and best places) to do that with time management?

And lastly, what are some MUST-see sights while I'm in NYC? :)

Thank you so much for the help! I can't wait to experience New York City in the fall, and I hope to see some of you there! Thanks!
