I live in London and I just got admitted off the waitlist to CAS! Keep holding up guys, patience goes a long way!

Congrats Bernice1995. Wish you all the best.

congratulations bernice!!!

congrats

this is just speculating but is it likely that anyone will get in after may?

Collegedreams29 I certainly think that they will offer admission after May,in previous years offers have been given in July so the same should happen this year.About a week ago I sent an email to the CAS director telling him how I’m still interested and yesterday I gained admission. So I guess it wouldn’t hurt reminding them of your interest and commitment to their university by email!

@ Bernice1995: did you receive an email from nyu mentioning the following
"As a result, we will likely not extend any additional offers of admission until late May, if at all. We will provide you with an update on your application status regardless of whether or not we will be able to offer you admission in early June. "
and then sent that email of interest to the director of cas…or you sent it at the beginning itself ?

@totololo I received that email and then sent an email of interest

Oh sorry I just checked my emails and I sent it before I received the email

I just got accepted to CAS!

Bernice1995: so do you really think that your email had any impact…because i’m hesitating before going forward with your strategy.

Bernice who did you email exactly

Associate Director of CAS

Willtavlin-my son applied to Tisch for film, and just got an email yesterday asking if he still was interested, and wanting to stay on the wait list. Of course he replied yes, but don’t know if he will get an offer for a spot in the program yet. Our fingers are crossed though. Good luck to you as well.

To all the perspective NYU student and parents, don’t worry if you didn’t get into your school of choice. With the exception of Stern, NYU is flexible about transitioning the students into their college of choice. Our daughter spent 2 years in LSP before transferring to CAS and then makes the dean’s this past year in CAS. The LSP program was perfect as it prepared her very well for the CAS transition. Our daughter has friends in different schools, CAS and Steinhardt who also transferred into TISCH. It’s all about how hard the student is willing to work to achieve their goals. NYU is not easy but you are supported by excellent professors and high powered environment. All the NYU students work hard. As for the parents, support your child’s ambitions and they will succeed. Good luck everyone.

@ LSPCASParent: just asking…do you have any hint regarding stern for the class of 2017…has stern already admitted any student off the wait list or are they planning to admit any student off the wait list this year…?

My D is attending NYU for film and it is quite expensive. If you have a good FA package from another school, take that into account if he gets off the waiting list. You will have to see if the net cost is close. We are paying almost full cost.

My daughter got the " are you still interested" letter for Tisch on Thursday and she answered back immediately. She told them she was still interested and it would depend on the amount of financial aid she can receive from the school.

We have not heard anything yet and are thinking mentioning financial aid was not a good idea. Any thoughts on this?

ruth1313~My son answered almost the same way. I think it really doesn’t matter that you mentioned financial aid. I think the school takes everything into consideration and they “have what they have”, and every case is different. We still haven’t heard anything back since his reply. Good luck to your daughter.

cschauf1~ I realize how expensive NYU is (I am a Tisch Alum myself), but he hasn’t had an official offer yet. If he does get one, I hope they will have some FA to offer, but we realize it probably isn’t too likely. Is your D starting this fall for film, or has she already been in the program?

jjcatena: good luck to your child as well.

I just saw some movement in her Albert account and according to this threat it is good news regarding admissions. Holding my breath at the financial aid.
