[ b]Reflection**
Strengths: I definitely have a unique story which is what got me in. I was an international student living in China who came to America, who is Indian with family all over the world. I speak 4 languages, started a business.
Weaknesses: being and Indian girl, and my stats were really weak. A lot of business schools required a math, and I didn’t always send it in!
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: my story!
Where else you are applying or have already applied: Got in to: UMich Ross pre-admit, NYU Stern, Berkeley, USC Marshall, UCSC, UCSB, UW Foster pre-admit, UCONN
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: Honestly, I cried for weeks and weeks before admissions came out. I didn’t think I would get in anywhere, and I literally killed the college game and got into a bunch of schools despite odds against me! You guys got it

[
] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): won a speaking contest through my school for Japanese, artwork recognized by primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, article on Space Shuttle Atlantis (STS-125) published in newspaper at 12 years old, just small stuff like this, I never won anything “huge”

[
] Weaknesses: If I could do it all over again, I’d take more math and science classes and work harder overall
[] Why you think you were accepted: my passion to go here probably showed through
[
] Where else were you accepted: USF, Florida Institute of Technology, FGCU

[/ul]General Comments:

I used to spend hours comparing my stats to kids on CC who were accepted/rejected. People always said, “You’ll never know for sure unless you try” and I thought, “NO! I must know for sure NOW and save myself the months of anxiety!” But that’s the thing, you will literally never know for sure unless you try. Go for it, kiddos.

Forgot to post here but might as well show my stats:

Decision: Waitlisted

College (LSA, engineering, etc.): Tisch Institute of Sports Management

Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 1940
ACT (breakdown): N/A
SAT II (place score in parentheses): US History 670, Math 2: 610
Weighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.4
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): n/a
AP (place score in parentheses): AP Macro, AP Micro, AP Calc AB, APUSH (4), AP Euro (3)

Other:
Applied for Financial Aid? No
State (if domestic applicant): CA
Country (if international applicant):
School Type: Private, Catholic
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): First Generation Student, some business experience

[ b]Reflection**
Strengths: I have a very strong passion for sports, and that some of my business
Weaknesses: being and Indian girl, and my stats were really weak. A lot of business schools required a math, and I didn’t always send it in!
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: my story!
Where else you are applying or have already applied: Got in to: Fordham, USC Marshall, UC Riverside, University of Arizona, UConn
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: I was surprised that I got waitlisted and not rejected because of my low scores. It shows that schools actually emphasize the “holistic review.” I declined to be part of the waitlist though as I was so happy I got into USC. Good luck with everyone else on the waitlist who’s anxious about getting in!

Can you guys help me with the writing supplement? I’ll be applying next fall to NYU Stern.
