i’ve been keeping my ear to the ground and i haven’t heard anything or talked to anyone who’s heard anything about tisch drama either. glad i’m not alone in this waiting hell lol.
My son received an update e-mail this morning to say they accepted 500 students from the wait list. “In the coming weeks, we may be able to admit additional students if we learn that expected students will not join us this fall. However, our class is currently full and we do not have additional spaces to award at this time. In early July, we will provide you with another update on your application status regardless of whether or not we will be able to offer you admission. I can assure you that we will provide you with a final admission decision no later than August 1.”
My daughter received the same email.
Have not heard anything from Tisch drama either.

Yes i got a similar email. They will give me a response no later than August 1st. More waiting to do

still on waitlist - did anyone get accepted to steinhardt? did anyone call admissions?
I contacted NYU last week and they told me to send my son’s final transcript. If he has very good grades, he may be accepted if there is space in early July. If not, they can asist with the transfer application in a year. This does not sound very promising. He graduated yesterday. First, he has to show a “strong senior year”, then wait and see if anyone withdraws from CAS for a slot. His orientation at his enrolled college is in August.
@burek8910 - My son was accepted to Steinhardt on May 11 with substantial scholarship $. He decided to stay with his first choice school even though NYU ended up being slightly less. I hope something opens up for you.
Thank you, @burek8910. My son told me this weekend he will not transfer to NYU if he doesn’t get accepted for the Fall. He feels they gave him false hopes with these update e-mails. First it was May, June, early July and then by August when he will get a response. I told him to move on with his second choice which is a good school for Engineering.
Oh man!! I’ve applied to NYU CAS as well but now I’ve had a change of heart and want to do engineering - should I email them letting them know? Or should I maybe indicated engineering as a second choice major? Do they consider the people on the waitlist for their second choice major? I’m praying hard to get accepted… It’s NYU or London for me
Does it mean my chances are slim if I didn’t get the interest email? I don’t need and didn’t apply for any financial aid!
I didn’t apply any fa as well and I also didn’t get the interest email.
The chances are pretty slim now. I was told all the schools are full unless someone withdraws. They took 500 people from the waitlist. My son was very upset because he was hoping to get in. Those who still remain on the waitlist should receive another update in early July.
Has anyone gotten an update regarding the waitlist?
Im surprised NYU hasnt closed it yet i mean its mid july for goodness sakes!
I got the email too… Is it only going to accept people from the wait list if someone decides to withdraw? That’s what it seems since having a wait list open this long (it’s almost August…) is usually in case someone withdraws and they need to fill up the class size.
