******NYU Class of 2020 RD Discussion******

Hey guys! I noticed there wasn’t a regular discussion up yet, so I decided to start one as April is quickly approaching. What are your guys’ intended majors? Mine is Global Public Health!

I’m applying for Economics or CAS or the LSP. April 1st seems like forever from now though but I didn’t want to get binded by applying Early Decision.

I applied for Economics in CAS, but I almost certainly won’t be attending NYU. It’s just too expensive, and I got into UVa and UMich.

Steinhardt for Voice Performance.

I applied for Stern as my first choice and CAS Economics as my second. Even if I get in by some miracle, I need aid to attend. I wish they would just release the decision now!

Steinhardt for either psychology or human development i can’t remember off the top of my head

I’m applying for Biology. Did anyone apply to NYU Abu Dhabi? If you did, did you get the invite for candidate weekend?

I applied for biology, too. RD for NY and Abu Dhabi. I haven’t gotten an invite yet, so I guess I’m out since there’s only one weekend left. Has anyone else heard about candidate weekend?

I applied for linguistics (CAS). I just want to know now, but I guess we just have to be patient…

I applied stern and as second choice. Do you guys know if they actually consider your second choice if I get denied from stern?

Anyone willing to post their stats?

IB grades:34/42
IELTS:7.0
U-weighted GPA - 3.57
Applied to stern for management. Since I’m an international applicant, I don’t have to submit my SAT scores.
Essay:9/10
NYU essay:10/10
Reccomandations:10/10
Additional recommendation (Guidance counsellor) - 10/10
Counsellor recommendation:10/10
400+ hours of extracurricular activities

What do you guys think?
Do I have a chance?

@Garyguy909 your IB score and GPA is WAY to low for stern. u guys really need to do some research before apply to a certain school. I knew 2 people with about 37/38 IB predicted score rejected from CAS and ended up getting the offer from LSP. Also, international students are known to be competitive, so I hope you declared a second choice or otherwise there is like 5% chance you will get into stern

@kker98 Kath你够了!

@Chalamagne916 I’m just trying to say a fact… It is extremely hard to get into stern with a 34 and I don’t see anything wrong with being honest when chancing people : )

The only thing I dislike about NYU is the price. UGH

do a lot of stern rejects get offers from cas??

on the subject of stats: my ACT is 30/31, I have a 3.9 unweighted gpa, and AP tests with 4s and 5s. what’s anyone’s opinion of my chances for CAS?

Haha, its all good man. But my mid year report will come out as a 37/42, I reckon.
Would that help my case? Also, considered college of general studies if I don’t get into Stern.

Did anyone who put NYU as first choice and Abu Dhabi as second choice get a candidate weekend invitation yet?
