My D is on the WL for Tisch tv/film as well. Haven’t heard anything. Continuing to remain hopeful.
So has NYU released how many accepted the waitlist?
So do I give up hope for CAS?
u should never give up your hope until you are actually told that they don’t want you on their waitlist. But we should just forget about it and move on at the same time. We all can be successful anywhere and maybe you are just meant to go to the school that you are committed to right now. I started waiting since November since I was deferred from ED but I still keep my hope up and I’m just happy that I found an amazing roommate at Uwashington Seattle.
You should never give up!
I still remember how frustrated I am when I received my August SAT score and saw I have 11question omitted which is impossible. I remember checking my scantron after finishing each part just because I also had omitted questions on previous SAT tests. The most unbelievable part is that out of 11 question that was omitted, 9 of them are from the reading section, because if it is evenly spread out, then it is probably the way I color the scantron cause some error but 9 of them in reading section is just really suspicious. So I ask college board to recheck my sat scantron and the only reply I got is that there was no error in grading my test. Because I had many essays to write, I didn’t have time to prepare for another SAT so I turned in most of my applications with SAT of 1410 which if I got those points back, probably be around 1460-1470. After finishing most of my essays in December, I decided to take another SAT and without any preparation, somehow I got 1420 which is better and I used the exact same pencil as I used for August SAT and this time there is no question that is omitted.
A normal person could tell that 1410 on the August SAT wasn’t my real score!
Then my psychology teacher didn’t turn in the recommendation letter which I asked before summer of 2017 until January 2018 which is roughly 3 months after ed process for NYU and ea schools. (Even though it wasn’t something as big as SAT score but still tilt me pretty hard)
After all this, I still can’t believe I’m still deferred from NYU(thought I will get rejected) and accepted by UWM, UIUC, and UWash. So I just felt lucky for everything I got right now and hope for the best in the future.
Things that aren’t going the way we wanted only make us stronger!
Peace
FYI, I did prep for SAT for whole summer of 2017 just for that one test in August.
Tandon, anyone?
Any updates on Gallatin or Stern??? Best of LUCK to every one. I keep telling myself to forget about it, just move on… but guess what, I’m back on! LOL. Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! Good luck!
good luck to you too. we’re in this together people (although technically we should be against each other lol)
Hey guys,
I heard no news from Tandon School of engineering either.
I called NYU admission office a few days ago and it sounded like Tandon has a bit different selection process from waitlist than other departments.
I am for sure that there are plenty of space at Tandon because there are many (many) people who got into Tandon, but committed elsewhere.
Never give up on your hope, we all have good chance in getting into Tandon.
Even if you find out that you will not be part of NYU, there will be plenty of choices you can make and opportunities for you (i.e transfer/graduate program).
I am wishing everyone the best luck.
Just to confirm- no one has gotten off the Stern waitlist this year yet?
@hrvrdwl2022,did you get interest letter from Gallatin?? I got one on May 2nd but never heard back from them after that. I am so worried and nervous about the results:(
still no CAS…anyone?
I got the interest letter from stern, but no follow up. Seems like nothing from them yet…
@mimimeme Still no news. I’m also waiting for CAS
@eyuncho what did the admission office tell exactly about Tandon waitlists? By the way, thank you for this info, I was almost about to give up my hope.
So no one has heard from CAS? I’m dying over here. No likely letters?
@Rachel0528 nope
I think if they gonna release, it isn’t going to be until afternoon around 2 PDT and I don’t think they gonna release this early during this week. We have already waited for 2 months so does it really matter to wait for couple more day?
Good day Folks !! Have been waiting from May 2 after we got the interest letter from NYU Tisch school of arts ( specifically Kanbar institute) . Hope this week brings some closure to this waiting period. Fingers crossed.
Thank you, as always, for your patience with our waitlist process. We will continue to consider admitting students from the waitlist as space becomes available through August 1. However, we wanted to provide this update about the current status of our waitlist.
To date, we have admitted approximately 150 students off of the waitlist to begin at NYU in the fall. We will continue to monitor available space over the coming weeks, but we do not anticipate making any additional offers for fall admission to our waitlisted students in the near future.
In addition to fall admission, we have admitted an additional cohort of students to begin in the spring semester in Liberal Studies, and at NYU’s Steinhardt and Tandon schools. There is a possibility that we may admit additional students to these programs with a spring semester start in the coming weeks.
Regardless of your waitlist status or school/program of interest, we ask that you do not send any additional credentials, letters of recommendation, to our office. In our waitlist review process, we primarily consider the original application you presented, and additional materials will not increase your likelihood of admission.
We know that the uncertainty that comes with waitlist status can be stressful, so we will do our best to keep you updated on your status whenever possible. You can expect another update on the status of our waitlist in early June.
This is what NYU officially informed to waitlist applicant today. why did they send us letter of interest… haha…
