NYU, CMU (Carnegie Mellon) and UCSD for Premed

Hi,

I have been accepted to NYU, CMU (Carnegie Mellon) and UCSD and would like to pursue medicine in the future. I have done research but am still confused as to which school has the better pre-medicine program. The university's reputation should be taken into account as well.

I am an international student so pricing is the same for all three schools, so it would be best if your opinions were independent of the prices and more on the school's ability in aiding my pursuit of getting into medical school. Furthermore, could you please talk about the pros and cons?

Any input will be much appreciated.

Thanks guys.

What are you majoring in? Do you want to have more of a campus university or a group of buildings in the middle of a city?

It is almost impossible for international students to be admitted to medical school in the US. Of the few medical schools that do accept international students, many ask that the full four years of medical school tuition and fees be paid upfront.

To be perfectly honest, your better option is to graduate from medical school in your home country, and then come here for a medical residency after that.
