NYU/Columbia chances

Not too confident about Columbia, but I applied anyhow just for kicks...

800 Math
680 CR
700 Writing

800 Math IIC
760 US History
760 Math IC
740 Physics

AP's taken:

AP Calculus AB (junior)
AP US History (junior)
AP Chemistry (junior)
AP Calculus BC (senior)
AP Physics B (senior)
AP Government (senior)

All others (I believe) are honers classes.

My unweighted rank is 30/260. My school doesn't weight when it ranks for some silly reason... GPA unweighted is 92.5%

EC's:
Concert band (concertmaster)
Math Club
Private Clarinet lessons (9 years experience)
Research project at Johns Hopkins University during my junior year (well over 200 hours of my time)
50 hours volunteer service at local nursing home
8 hours volunteer service at the local habitat for humanity

Thanks ahead of time!

idk, with your spelling of honors,i dont think you have a chance.

just see what happens, our personal opinions are pretty worthless.

no one here has any true realistic idea of your chances outside of comparing your SAT average to the colleges.

i go to NYU and you're pretty much in. Definitely apply to Columbia because it seems to me they tend to accept people not just based on GPA (i know a kid who got in with 1530 SAT yet was not even in the top 25% of our class) and these days at a lot of elitist schools acceptance is pretty much a toss up. Go for it!

50 hours volunteer service at local nursing home
8 hours volunteer service at the local habitat for humanity

I don't think you should include that..

NYU, yes. Columbia, highly unlikely.

You should get into NYU, Columbia is definitely a reach, but still possible.

You have almost the same SAT's as me!
