NYU dual degree program question

So i applied to this 5 year dual degree program with NYU CAS and NYU poly
This 5 year program offers a student to attend NYU CAS for the first three years, and then the next two years in NYU poly to obtain two degrees in your science/your science engineer (in my case, I am in chemistry/chemical engineering)
The program began in 2010, so the information about this program is very minimal, so i was wondering if anyone else have heard of a friend or relative that is in the program now and can fill me in on any information?
College life, education, course rigor etc. Anything is appreciated!
I am currently trying to decide between this program and a spot in CCNY Macaulay honor program too.

Once again, help is very much appreciated! thank you

I don’t even think it’s going to be effective anymore since Poly is going to merge into NYU in 2014. If you’re going to study engineering, you will study at NYU’s school of engineering at the Brooklyn campus. You can double major or minor at some other NYU schools. From what I heard, rigor at Poly is extremely intense. You should call in and double check if it’s still possible to do the 3+2 program despite the merger.

It’s basically a double major program designed to be completed in 5 years, and it still holds. You will earn two NYU degrees (a BS in math/science from the College of Arts and Science and a BS in engineering from the Polytechnic School of Engineering) since Poly will officially be an NYU school next year. There’s a girl in a few of my classes at Poly doing the program. She seems to like it and is doing well in the classes.
