Hey guys! I applied to NYU Early Decision and I thought I'd start this discussion so that we can take about our stats, admission decisions and all that stuff!

First question: I heard that ED II and RD had very similar acceptance rates, so is applying ED II really worth it? I’m not sure which choice is better…

@BarrelBlaster Yes i think that applying ED II would be better than RD as there is a smaller pool of applicants applying under ED II.
And the rates are a bit similar ( I believe that i read somewhere that early decision acceptance rate was around 7% higher) but you also have to take into account that, like i said earlier, there is a smaller pool of applicants. And NYU has actually been accepting larger classes lately with last years class being the largest they have every had, if i’m not wrong. You also have to remember that early decision is binding and if you get in you HAVE to go there so if you’re not completely sure that you want to attend NYU, don’t do ed.

@BarrelBlaster If you are asking yourself that question, ED is probably not for you. You have to be absolutely certain that this what you want

@libertysenior and @bobcat97, thanks for your feeback. Honestly, I just want to go to a good business school, but I don’t know very many…

Question on the NYU supplement:

The supplemental question asks “NYU is global, urban, inspired, smart, connected, and bold. What can NYU offer you, and what can you offer NYU? (200-400 words)”

Should the focus of the essay primarily be on NYU as whole or the specific school we are applying to?

Hey guys just recieved an email for NYU shanghai interview …Early Decision II
@TsunamiSurf to be honest with you I just focussed on NYU as a whole. It seemed to work out in the end.
