mine was about… my hair (i did the challenging a belief prompt) and how i decided not to straighten it bc of my individuality lmao
my why nyu essay was legit ONLY about gallatin, ik that they asked in the prompt to write about ALL interested programs but i took a risk oops/ also it was in future tense which can both make or break my app
@trign0metry uhhh well basically i was very very blunt and sarcastic LOL but for a purpose, i swear. the first sentence has some shock factor. but once i got into it i focused on the professors in the program i applied to that had inspired me before
I wrote about pool (as in billiard) and how every time I visit the the pool hall around the corner from my house is a ‘‘raging battle’’ against myself. I simply loved this essay. It has to be the piece of writing I have ever written. =D>
My NYU essay was about my future position in my father’s business and how going to Stern will ‘‘be the catalyst that fuels my future success in Bolivia.’’
My common app essay was about my family/ background and how they affected me and my dreams/goals. My why NYU essay was about … well NYU. I talked about which specific programs lead me to NYU, and how the city of NYU was diverse and perfect for someone who wanted to study sociology.

Everyone knows I applied ED2 to NYU though. I’m not embarrassed and I know I’ll get spammed. Whatever though, its nice to know i have friends that care so much.

Lol I was rejected Cornell ED1 too @dehca2016 @RSalvatierra and yeah I feel you guys in so many levels. I haven’t told many people about NYU and my decision to apply ED2 because I just can’t handle my phone blowing up w/ did you get in texts and calls. 14 days left or less though! ahhhh!!
lmao my dad is such a big name uni hoe (like everyone else ik) that unless i get into nyu/usc/pitzer hes gna want me to to choose kings college london (it’s closer to my home country & cheaper than america prob) over a place like bard. (because his first reaction to my college list was ‘where is stanford???columbia???yale??? wasn’t bard a jester from the medieval times or something’)

I was rejected from Penn ED. Accepted to Northeastern Honors with a 22K scholarship, Binghamton with University Scholars, Fordham with a full tuition scholarship, and UVa, so my entire future doesn’t ride on NYU which is good, I guess.
How many merit scholarships does NYU give?
