*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

How are you all accessing the housing changes? Can anyone explain exactly what I have to click on to be taken to the site? I was able to log on a few times, but it’s always been super messy for me.

Also, did anyone apply to Gallatin through ed2 here? does anyone know the acceptance rate for gallatin? we all know NYU’s overall acceptance rate is a little less than 30%, but what’s the stats for gallatin? thanks guys!!

Does anyone know if CAS has a lower acceptance rate then NYU’s overall rate? Wondering same for GLSP applicants too. I applied to both. Still no housing change. SO freaking nervous!!

CC is a place for questions and discussion, but please stop posting “stuff you heard” from your “friend” as if it is fact. there’s a VERY BIG difference between discussing and making up false claims that only scare people. think before you post, guys. this should be a positive outlet, not some pessimistic stew of [obviously false] speculation.

@user66974 i applied to gallatin. i was wondering about the same thing and i think that gallatin obviously isn’t the most competitive, but I think I have seen a thread somewhere here on CC that freshman class in gallatin is counted in hundreds and the total amount of gallatin students at NYU is less than 2k. so it seems as very selective, but also is know for the most weird admissions process because there are people with low stats who got in, but also some with very high who did not. it is just said that gallatin is the weirdest. I think that the acceptance rate is low, but I don’t know what is it in percent.

and the acceptance rate for NYU is slightly above 30%, not below.

same, no housing change for me as well :o cas definitely has a slightly lower acceptance rate than overall nyu’s acceptance rate. @Q1234T

@creed67 just nothing, they send it to just to let you know that they have received your application. it is not an indicator of anything “more special”.

@user66974 @classlena I applied to Gallatin ED2 as well. They have around 30% acceptance rate (give or take a little), but my college counselor mentioned something about their admissions process being slightly more holistic than the rest of NYU.

@classlena As an ed1 stern admit I wouldn’t call, “I heard this and that from so and so”, thinking logically. Seems perfectly understandable for someone, with a passion in business, to apply to Stern as their first choice and CAS econ as their second. In fact, I would think it a good thing. Demonstrates a passion for the field, an eye for the school (NYU as a uniform institution), and an eye for reality. Now if an applicant claimed a passion for business and applied CAS econ as their first and Stern as their second, I might understand why that would seem disingenuous.

I’m not disregarding your assertion, so don’t even waste your time pulling a “why don’t [you] just ignore it.” I’m simply continuing a discussion worth continuing. Not trying to condemn you in any way.

If you have something positive to share, go ahead and share it, that way you all can help each other get through this. But if your “logical” speculation is built around causing more distress, I respectfully ask that you keep it to yourself. It’s not like you’re providing advice anyone can heed - all the applications are in.

I’m an internetional students here in US, a senior, just applied to NYU for ED2. My GPA is 4.05(weighted). Class Rank 8/106. My ACT is 31, and SAT II are Math800, Chemitry 750, Physics 730. My TOEFL is 107.
I’m taking AP stats and AP microeco now. I took AP chem, AP Cal last year and got a 4 and 5.
What’s my chance?
Also, I have not heard back from NYU about an interview yet. I’m kinda worried about not having a interview will affect my admission.

@Zhouyixuan
The majority of applicants don’t receive interviews, so don’t stress about it. There are plenty of admitted students who didn’t receive interviews.

Does anyone’s housing look like this:

Thanks!

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for CAS?

it is slightly below 30%, around 26%. @curiousminds01

things are not always only black and white, thus i didnt make a judgement, but i only spoke about an occurence. everything you have said is obvious to agree with but it doesnt change a point. still there were times when actually my reasoning had its real assertion. i am glad that you shared your stuff with us, this is what for my thread was made. and definitely, I did not say something similar to yours with a mark that such a person will be rejected or whatever. there are different cases of people applying to stern-cas and that is obvious that they are not gonna kick out somebody with passion. this is something that I didn’t even mention because of it being that obvious. but there are some for whom cas literally is just idc-whatever-backup. and this is what I have been talking about.

I am patiently waiting for decisions to come out and I am glad that somebody read what I wrote and commented on that, but as you said, just leave it at this point and enjoy being here for good reasons. @iywang

I just got the housing change! It says “Frenshman” under Fall in New York City and it says “There is no application for Spring 2016 available to you at this time” under Spring in New York City

have you “just” got it or have you just noticed? congrats! @dksthf

@classlena I’ve been checking everyday for awhile now, so I literally “just” got it! Thank you so much!!

I’m officially logging off CC until I see my admission decision. Good luck to everyone! Se y’all on the other side.

Can someone post the link for housing again?
