*****NYU Early Decision 2 Class of 2020 Discussion*****

If RD applicants also had the change, then it must have been a complete reboot. And those who still have freshman, could this be a small technicality?

@RSalvatierra Maybe their housing portals are already glitched since they have both options…?

As ED II applicants can we get deferred and or waitlisted or is it simply accepted or rejected? And in the past there are several applicants who never got the change and got in, so we shouldn’t be so worried. Besides, there are 7 days left and I think this finally evens out the playing field for most of us, whether you received a change or not. We were never meant to figure out the whole housing and acceptance correlation if there even was one. As anxious and nervous as we all are, the best thing to do is just to wait and see what the results will be on the 15th. I seriously hope a majority of us will get in.

my only concern that if there is a glitch that it is not wrong when the decisions go out

You know what I find ridiculous? I haven’t even gotten one housing change, and some people have gotten two.

It’s outrageous that we live in a society where 47% of all new housing changes go to 1% of applicants. What we need is an application revolution, where the NYU admissions committee gives housing changes to all applicants, not just a handful of wealthy donors.

feelthebern

this was actually all done to get everyone to vote for bernie sanders

we would all like to formally introduce ourselves as bernie sander’s PR team.
and y’all thought clinton was getting hip with the young crowd, but we managed to get into the psyche of the freshly voting-eligible aged youth of america. as the great philosopher D.J Khaled once said, “congratulations, you played yourself.”

@SquadGoals we can’t get deferred because we can’t apply again… most likely, the other option will be wait list.

I believe NYU just reset housing system steps by steps in order to clean the mess of housing applications. I think there will be some solid changing of housing results in following days. The reason that ‘changing’ is in today, the final decision day, is I believe they start to put some later results in the system.

Such wise words.
I got the housing change and Im not a ‘wealthy donor’. I need a lot of FA. So please check your facts before you make any comments  @dehca2016

what is the link for housing?

https://housing.nyu.edu/apply @Lucas1998

mine changed back too

@collegesaywht123

It’s a meme

what is the NYU Eligibility Opportunity Interview?

mine changed back to nonrenewable undergraduate too :frowning: my heart sank when i saw it, because CC made me so excited for the housing change. oh well, at least this teaches us to not get our hopes up before anything final. what does this mean? are we all rejected now? it makes no sense to change their mind right when all the admission decisions become final…

Hey, it’s alright. Dont freak out so much. No one knows if this is correlated to rejections but it’s most probably not. They cant suddenly reject so many people 6 days before the decisions. Just try not to over-analyse it and try to distract yourself. @creed67

@collegesaywht123 yeah you’re totally right; I think I’ll go binge watch something until the 15th

Well.
Seems like there is a new trend
Change back to Non-renewable = rejections! Congrats!

Then all of these are baseless, irrational conjecture that we need pay no attention to.

Let me introduce some proper deduction.:

  1. In previous years (2014,2015ed), most people with house change got accepted.
  2. This year, if there are no special circumstances, majority of people with house change will get in.
    Now:
  3. Presumably, people with house change will get it based on the propositions above.
  4. On Feb 8th, majority “house change” turned to Non-renewable again.
  5. On the same date, there are a minority with not extremely outstanding scores, still hold the freshman status.
  6. Based on 1.2.3. We can deduce nothing or guess nothing because there is no prove (nor the faintest hint) of accepting of those who still hold freshman status.
As 2.3 will be considered special circumstances.

Also, let me despite some “theory”,
Since not only ED2 people got house status rechanged, but also did RD people.
In account of this cue, we can infer that there must be a thorough system change happened yesterday. Apparently the decisions of RD applicants won’t come out till March, i assume.

So the final cutoff/selection theory holds no ground.

I observe that most people, in reaction to the sudden change took place 7 days before the inform date, got paranoid and emotional, as losing the ability to think critically and rationally. Although the situation is completely normal considering our eager to get in, the mood state will prodigiously affect our basic functioning of our faculty of reason.

Be calm.
