From what I already know what read on CC, on ED you are either in or out; there is no waitlist option. Only at times, a person might end up being deferred, but not very often.
@stefankobk Does that mean the three situations mentioned by @Chalamagne916 are wrong since you can only be accepted or rejected.
I’m not very into what @Chalamagne916 is saying (not saying that she/he is wrong/right, but I don’t know how to approach it); she/he only stated three possible options based on what people on this thread reported; what occurences of this housing change they got and that’s all. I only said that on ED you can o n l y either be accepted or rejected, because only Regular Decision holds a possibility to put somebody on waitlist. @Chalamagne916 stated three options based on what people reported, but as far as I know, I’ve not seen any her/his thoughts about how those options might connect with either rejection or acceptance. Oh I saw one post, but that was just too heavy and complicated thus, I do not know what to tell you. You can only either get in or not, you can be sure that they won’t put you on a waitlist and that is the only thing that you can be sure of at this moment. I think that we should not rely on those housing changes too much.
My son just received this email just now…
Dear

Decisions will not be sent by email and decisions will not be released over the phone until Wednesday, February 17th.
Should you have any questions about your decision notification, please email admissions@nyu.edu.
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Abbott

Why did I receive the regular decision financial aid reminder?? Did anyone else receive it as well?
I received the ed2 financial aid reminder earlier in the year but why am i receiving the regular decision one at this point!!! Freaking out
@todee97 I just got that email too
@gettingintostern yup I got that too
I got the email too, but I don’t think this means anything since it’s probably an automated email.
Got the email!!!
Theories?!??
What does this mean???
@dehca2016 it’s just an automated email, let’s not get worked up about this too people
@dehca2016 Which email are you referring to? If it’s the regular decision financial aid email then probably nothing since NYU almost never defers ED II applicants to the RD pool.
Oh my god I just called they say just disregard it… Scared the shit out of me
But they said that ed2 people shouldn’t be receiving it at this point though…
@gettingintostern So did they mention why some ed2 people are receiving the email?
I got the email todee got!!
Does this mean I got in?!?
@dehca2016 I got that same email too.
@dehca2016 no they’re just saying when they’re going to let you know, everyone probably gets it
@booyakah they only said yeah I saw you applied under ed2 plan so just discard the email. And the woman was like I simply cannot tell you why you received it…
Too late. I already popped the (non alcoholic) champagne.
