NYU Econ

How Solid is NYU CAS Econ with a Pre-Business Minor (who take classes with stern kids)? Can you still land a good job, as in the same jobs that stern kids might end up with.

Sure. NYU has a top Econ department and given its proxiomity to Wall Street and the Northeast, probably has access to several major firms. The only difference is the career center at Stern will probably be more potent, but for the highly driven student, an Econ degree from NYU's CAS should be more than enough to secure a good job upon graduation.

NRC rated NYU as 17th in econ. Not too impressive given its strength in other fields. As Alexandre said, it should still be enough to land you a solid job due to its location and whatnot.

where can i find the ranking of top econ schools?

Those NRC rankings are ten years old. NYU has improved since then.

Actually, jpps, the NCR rankings, although quite old, are almost identical to the 2006 USNWR ranking. NYU itself did improve slightly from #17 to #15, but that's not really noteworthy. Obviously, major departments do not change that much over the course of 10 years.
