NYU Economics

Hi, I am currently a high school senior and will be attending NYU in the fall, majoring in economics. I want to go into I-banking, so my question is that do NYU degrees usually land students a good job with i-banking firms? Reading the featured discussion thread, is seems that most undergrads that get into i-banking firms come from the ivy league.

Secondly, could I major in something in political science and still do i-banking?

Any help woild be great.

If you want to get involved in i-banking, why aren't you planning on majoring in finance?

My buddy went to Stern, undergrad major was Finance, interned at Goldman Sachs, but ended up choosing to work for Lehman Bros as an analyst.

A couple years later he was teaching AP Calculus at a high school in the Bronx, and he was happy as a clam. What's the moral of the story? You decide.
