NYU ED, chaaaaaaance me!!

Hello, I know I've done this a trillion times but I need opinions!!

I applied to NYU early decision:

GPA weighted: 94/100
SAT: 1940
M+CR: 1260
SAT2 MATH1: 680
SAT2 MATH2: 670
SAT2 USH: 650
ACT: 28
->I didn't include my 27 ACT score even though I did great in math and english (30 and 33) because I did awful - AWFUL - on the reading. Do you think I should send it anyway or no?

CLASSES
7 APs (APHUG sophmore year, APUSH & APLANG junior year, APES APLIT APCALC AB & APMICRO senior year)
4 College courses (that give me credit) (Precalc junior year, Spanish Psychology & Sociology senior year)
8 Honors (8th MathH, 9th MathH EnglishH SpanishH World HistoryH, 10th EnglishH SpanishH MathH)

I'm not including my ECs but I can let you know that there are a good amount and they are great!

AWARDS
National Honors Society, National Spanish Honors society, AP Scholar Award

So let me know!!! Thanks!

no one? seriously? please!!

I would still send both ACT scores if I were you. Most colleges just want to see everything…
And I’d say NYU is a reach but with ED you definitely have a shot! Good luck.
Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/806642-chance-me-colgate-ed-colby-bates-etc.html</a></p>

but the reading is a 18!! it’s really, really bad. do you still think I should send it?

My profile is SOOO simular to yours. I got a 1980 on the SAT. I did horrible on the reading portion of the ACT which brought my score down to a 28 also. I also have the exact same Junior and senior schedule as you. On the SAT I got a 560 on crit but got a 740 on math. i dont know why, i just suck at reading like no other.

I retook the ACT so ill see how I did but im applying to NYU too! I think that we have a chance of getting in. NYU is a great school but its not like the Ivys where they expect a 2300 from you. :)

yes, but nyu like expects atleast a 1400!! they told me the average sat score is 1400 when i visited (which is of course a lie!)

good luck to the both of us!

What were your AP scores? NYU is really flexible with standarized tests, you could send you 3 AP exams instead of your SAT/ACT’s.
It would be a low reach for you.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/804594-chance-me-jhu-mit-ed-ea.html</a></p>

what are your extracirriculars?

My AP scores aren’t great either =( What can i say? I can’t take a test (and expect to get a great score) due to all the pressure! I really stress myself out.
But i got a 3 for APHUG&APLIT (which is weird because I did great in the classes) and a 4 on APUSH

I have so many extracurricular activities that I didn’t include them.
Some highlights are:
President of the Students Against Violence Everywhere club (been a member for 4 years, a board member junior year and then the president senior year)
Art Club (4 years, last 2 years I’ve been treasure)
Lacrosse Manager (4 years)
Newspaper (2 years)
Organized many school events
Sunday School Teacher (5 years)
Traveled to a different country to volunteer during the summer

Those are just some, but there are more.

Hahah I also got a 4 on APUSH and 3 on APEng. (I did Lang. & Composition)
You are really well rounded, and ECs can really make up for an average SAT score.

and I hope we both get in too! NYU is more flexible than the Ivys so I’m sure they will take little things into consideration besides the SAT  Have you started your Common App?

I meant 3 on the Lang not Lit******

And yes I started the common app! I already applied to NYU ED!!

Oh thats great! you already have an advantage because you applied for early decision. Good Luck, I hope you get in!!! Im in the process for Regular decision ahh

Thanks so much!! Good luck to you too! Hopefully we can both get in, fingers crossed!

anyone have any other thoughts?

buump???
