********NYU ED Class of 2020 Discussion**********

*that illness was not something that I made myself into, it was not because of me that I got it.

What is everyone doing to cope with having to wait? Almost only a month left!

@Thisishassanali I’m from Texas!

@deller123 I’m not coping lol. I’ve been going insane if I’m being honest. I’ve already promised all my friends and family that I’ll bring them cookies with “NYU” on them if I get in, to say thanks for putting up with me. hehe. :stuck_out_tongue:

@natiann123 I mean, your gpa is great. ECs are related to your major. The only thing you might have to worry about is your SAT, but I guess doing ed kind of makes up for it.

@deller123 @natiann123 good luck to all of you guys. I’m just starting to write new essays for other schools, cuz I probly won’t get into Stern :smiley: :frowning:

anyone who applied to NYU Shanghai here?:slight_smile:

Hi, I’m applying To Steinhardt early decision as well.

anyone from nyc?

@Nottryingtoohard What are your scores/stats??

One month left! Remember that today is the last day for ED applicants to submit finical aid forms.

Anyone know the when the admission decisions will be released?

A lot of sources say 7am EST on December 15th. I hope so. I don’t think I’ll survive the anxiety of waiting for the decisions that whole day.

@ferrarivettel In past years they have released it up to three days early. If there is any decision deadline change it will most definitely be posted on their admissions blog: http://admissionsblog.nyu.edu/

best of luck!

Hello guys (new to this thread)! I’m from North Carolina applying ED1 to NYUNY Stern. For others applying to Stern, what are you hoping/planning on concentrating in?

@iywang apparently they’ll roll out the decisions on that day (or a day before that) by waves and the entire process will take the course of a full day.

well that’s going to be a test for one’s patience isn’t it :slight_smile:

@ferrarivettel oh yeah! I remember hearing about that. I think it’s waves by last name.

Usually rejected ones receive decision first in the morning…

I’m applying early to stern also! Good luck!!! The next three weeks are going to be rough. Are you waiting to hear back before starting back-up apps? I’m planning to finish my other essays over Thanksgiving.

My intention is to finish off the shorter response essays (200-300 words) over Thanksgiving break, and let the rest wait until after I receive my results from NYU. If I’m accepted, then I wouldn’t have done a load of extra work and if I’m rejected or waitlisted I’ll finish off my January apps over Winter break. Hope to see you next year!!

@natiann123
White Male
SAT: Superscore: 2210 (CR-730 M-780 W-700) So 1510 CR+M
SAT II: Chem-770 Math level 2-800
GPA: UW:3.71 W:4.41 (I screwed up quite a bit junior year, but I go to a really competitive public school in NJ. Really high-achieving school.)

ECs:
I don’t feel like listing all of them, but I have pretty normal ECs, nothing too special other than chess. Couple of work experiences, not related to business though.
I play chess and have a USCF rating of 1889 which is considered pretty good. (almost top 100 in the US for my age)
Also I went to Harvard Secondary School Program over the summer, studying Principles of Economics. I got an A and sent them the transcript.

APs: Stats-5; Calc BC-5; Calc AB subscore-5; Chem-4

Essays:
CommonApp-8/9 out of 10 I guess
why nyu-8/10 I guess
Recs:
Nooo idea lol

All in all, I’m really worried about my UW GPA, since it is a little low. But again, I have a pretty tough school, so idk.

If anybody wants to chance me for Stern ED I, feel free to do so; I’d appreciate it!
