CAS Econ, I’m getting rejected though
@Dsara176 What did you get on your SAT/ACT
@Sampats 1330
@Dsara176 that’s not bad!! Good Luck! Do you think a 31 is competitive for CAS?
Everyone at school is freaking out about Valentine’s Day, and here I am staring at the clock.
@Dsara176 Haha same
Guys im so nervous but i feel better i have companions. Stern? Anyone?
@Sampats Dude, I followed ED1 results pretty closely. I saw a person with a 1540 sat and a business bringing in revenue of $15K, get rejected, and another person with a 1350 sat with very average stats get selected. So I don’t know anything anymore.
@Dsara176 i wouldn’t try to look into all of that too closely, it’s just going to create more anxiety. The process is extremely individual so i’m not sure it’s worth it to go into it like that
@Anxiouschild123 Me!! What are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?
1570 sat 800 sat 2 history 800 sat 2 chem 800 sat 2 math 2
My gpa is so bad though hau? @salster
@Anxiouschild123 Wow those are great stats!! And don’t worry I’m sure your GPA is ok from looking at your amazing test scores lmao… I have a 35 ACT, 800 SAT Math 2 and 770 SAT French, and ~94 UW GPA.
@salster u as well! Did u have any business experiences?i hope we both get in
@Anxiouschild123 Honestly not really? I develop mobile apps, and I have leadership positions in a few national non-profits but that’s about it. It’s really hard to find any business internships or anything like that where I’m from. What about you? And yeah hopefully we both get in!!! :))
Yeah same… as long as we have leadership positions i think we r good. Same though i have a few leadership positions,but no official business experience @salster
@Anxiouschild123 I’m applying to stern too, but i don’t think I’m getting in ahah

This kind of thing happens because different NYU schools look for different things, because there are HEOP admissions, and really just because admissions is holistic. At our info session, they told us about a case - very rare but to show it can happen - where an otherwise excellent application got scuttled by the “why NYU” essay.
My daughter was one of those with average stats that got accepted in ED1. Her background is probably a little unique for NYU, her essays were really good (especially why NYU), and I think her letter of rec (she only had one, as per requirements) probably was too.
At this stage nothing to do but wait, please don’t obsess over housing and FA and email etc (my daughter had none of those). Good luck to all of you!
@SJ2727 Thankyou!
5 hours 11 minutes left.
applying to the school of nursing and i literally dont know anyone else you applied there
Hey guys, I’m deferred from ED1 to ED2 applying for Film and Television. I’m really hoping for all of ya’ll to get in and hoping you don’t have to go through the unbelievable uncertainty/limbo feeling that deferral brings.
