NYU ED II - FA Change Disclosure Thread + Pledge order

ED II results are getting near and we have seen through the last couple rolls of Early Decision that there is a strong correlation and trend between getting an FA change and an acceptance, or lack thereof and rejection.

For this reason I am continuing this thread so that it may help future applicants

Good essays, as I’m an international kid having lived in 6 countries throughout my life. I applied for music technology so I have a lot of experience in terms of my major, and I also had to send in an audition video which I think i did fairly well in. This is all pretty subjective though, probably haha so I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I’m also an IB candidate.

P.S. I didn’t apply for financial aid, and I read on the ED II thread that people who don’t do so get the aid change no matter what?

@HaroldSawyer Yes, your FA status will ultimately change regardless of whether you applied for FA or not if you are accepted. However, it doesn’t automatically default to the change if you don’t apply for aid so the theory should still be plausible. Many people who don’t apply for FA will still not receive the change.

Sorry if that’s confusing. I’m not too good with words.

So here are the current statuses:

If you’re accepted -> not matte what, you WILL get a FA Change (or already did)
**If you didn’t apply for FA-> You might not get the FA change before February 14
If you don’t get the FA Change before Feb 14-> You still of being admitted, FA or not
**If you didn’t apply for FA-> You also MAY get the FA change before 2/14
If you get the FA Change before Feb 14-> There is a good chance you got accepted

Side notes:
ED is binding
NYU and tells applicants only to apply ED if NYU is your dream school because its binding
NYU supposedly gives “notoriously sub-par” Financial Aid according to CC accepted students
NYU publically states to NOT apply ED if you need financial aid
NYU knows many ED people apply for FA anyways, and some back out of their agreements for financial reasons, which is why they made the previous statement ^
NYU gives scholarships to RD students; not to ED because they already know you have to come and you’ll pay

My conclusion (given everything I said is true)
If you didn’t need FA and you applied ED -> It seems like the odds would be in your favor

Any flaws? Sorry for going off topic lol oops…

-NYU Tisch Film
-“Award access not available.”
-3.2 GPA (UW)
-1800 SAT
-Fantastic portfolio (video I sent in: https://vimeo.com/85992414</a>). I work with a renowned Disney Producer full time. I own my own small production company. My essays were quite good. Great recommendations.

So, I’m in an odd predicament. My grades are below average, but my portfolio is fantastic. I’m really riding on the notion that Tisch admissions will look over my grades!

Question: does it have a year? Your fa change?

NYU CAS (changed to LSP?)

Don’t know what date it actually changed because the first time I checked it since I sent my app was last week.
Don’t want to post my stats because I don’t have any idea what that would have to do with this fa change theory but I will say I can see how I got rejected from CAS and into LSP because my stats aren’t really typical NYU student material.
