NYU ED l 2024

has anyone applied to NYU CAS?

i have!

i honestly don’t know, but from what i’ve heard i think they’re released at 5 pm eastern time

Hello Planning to apply to NYU RD. Does selecting secondary campus choice in the common app, affect the decision in any way as in NYU will prefer to select you for Shanghai or Abu Dhabi as not many students might be applying to those campuses? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

connect_college I did. Did you as well?

@hersome Last year’s ED results were released at 4 PM ET on Thursday, December 13. D got an email the Friday afternoon before indicating when the results would be released. Look for that email this week. Best of luck to All!

thank you so much!

@matt2024 the official NYU stance is that you are considered for your first choice first, and only considered for your second choice if rejected fir first choice. That said, given how competitive it’s become, especially RD, second choices being considered are a very real likelihood so please do properly consider if it’s one you’d be happy accepting.

Btw I don’t know Shanghai numbers but Abu Dhabi has about a 4% admit rate… not sure why so crazy low.

@Zac123 my calculation took yield into account; the 6,500 number was the number of enrolled, not accepted, students.

so it’s still around 22% acceptance I think. I wish it was higher like you said tho ?

just got to school and saw that it is dec 2, which means we find out in no more than 13 days. is anyone else starting to suddenly get really nervous?

in all honesty, i’m terrified! nyu has been my dream school for so long!

yeah me too! i think about it constantly :’)

@hersome @jpjgjp what courses have y’all applied for?

also, I applied for economics and math, joint.

@matt2024 an NYU admissions officer came to my high school and said that most people who put NYC as their first preference would either get NYC or not get in at all. Because NYUAD and NYUSH are super competitive. So like, the chances are very low of you being admitted to your second choice campus location. So like don’t get worried about getting rejected from NYC and getting admitted into AD or SH because even what @SJ2727 said is also accurate.

politics! what do you all want to be when you’re older (if you already know)?

most likely a lawyer/judge  maybe film though i’m not sure. wbu?

me too! i’m thinking of pursuing civil rights law.

@hersome I don’t really know, i love research so theoretical mathematics
