Hey guys! current NYU student here to hopefully put your minds at ease 
Please stop even looking at the housing portal, it means 100% absolutely nothing for ED students because current NYU students do not yet have the option to apply for fall housing - like it doesnât even exist in the system yet.
Similarly, I did not sign up for spring 2020 housing and my status is âwaitlist undergraduateâ same as some of you. Again, Iâm enrolled for Spring 2020 im not a waitlisted undergraduate, i am an undergraduate with option to join the housing waitlist.
Ik you guys are desperate for ANY sign of your status, put unfortunately it really doesnât exist until the decisions are released because youâre all applying so early. (I applied ED, absolutely no portal changes anywhere and convinced myself that meant i was rejected)
In the past, ED applicants have always received an email a couple days before decisions release to let you know what day/time to check. This doesnât seem to be the case right now, so I think decisions are really unlikely to just pop up tomorrow. If it is tomorrow, Iâm not sure where 4pm EST came from, since itâs always been 5pm EST. Try to keep in mind that they will probably be released later in the day and time a lot of you have predicted, and the 15th is the âofficialâ day the office is citing.

@Squilkey that felt so good to hear. whew⊠my heart dropped for my pour D because she simply see nothing but a checklist and summer thats it. So knowing there are no true indication puts my heart to ease. Though we just dont know one way or the other, at least there is no un necessary saddness in advanced.
@dd8868 Wow. What about the post of the individuals that said they had zero change to housing and was admitted? As the post above from @Squilkey
@dd8868 did your father by any chance share when the decisions might come out? On the 12th or 13th or the 15th, which happens to be a Sunday.
Has anyone elseâs housing page recently changed? Mine originally said Summer 2020 and now has a section below for Academic year 2020-2021 freshman

Hey my housing portal says academic year 2020-2021. Is this a good sign?
@dd8868 mine says summer 2020 but when i got the housing application portal, i still have these 2 options.
For Fall and Spring applications - select Academic Year Application.
For Summer applications - select Summer Housing Application.
does this mean anything?

What about us who have had all the cards since day 1? I have always been able access fall - summer 2019 housing. I can cancel housing for fall - spring 2019 and sign up for summer.
@dd8868 I am sure your father is on the NYU admissions board since you did reply earlier saying âIs 4.86 and 36 ACT good? From Indonesia at American boarding school do not know about US studentsâŠâ
If your father was really on the admissions board you would not be asking this here. And it should be unacceptable that you are giving hope to people and making students and their parents feel more stress during this time.
My son had Fall 2020 housing option for Washington DC but it is gone now. Very weird. My son only applied for NYC Campus, not Washington DC
