@MrDiaz that is only true for international students, where admissions is need-aware. (And actually I’m not even sure it’s just applying for aid that is an issue for internationals, but rather how much one might get.)
For domestic applicants, NYU has a need blind admissions process as explained by @CoffeeandTea22 .
@SJ2727 so does that mean if international students do not apply for financial aid, they have a better chance?
@MrDiaz it will be more nuanced than just whether someone has applied for aid. I expect the amount of aid eligible for in the context of the strength of the overall application is what they look at.
housing.nyu.edu states that I am a “waitlist undergraduate”
Does anyone else have any changes on theirs? I did ED I to CAS.
Where does it say that?
Do you see where it says Academic Year 2019-2020? Try clicking apply and it will load a page that said my application classification.
That link isn’t sending me to a webpage
housing.nyu.edu only says Welcome to Housing for me
^ it says the same thing for me
That’s weird! Try this link: https://housing.nyu.edu/PortalXNYC/54313724/1/1/Home-NYU_Housing_Applicat
If it doesn’t work, you can go to NYU Home/global and search housing in “services”
Then on the top where it says logout on the right, the left should have the 3 lines. Click on them and click application year housing (which is the 3rd down)
On NYU’s website, undergraduate waitlist housing falls under returning student housing so I think they have your housing status wrong for some reason.
Check it out here: https://www.nyu.edu/students/student-information-and-resources/housing-and-dining/on-campus-living/application-and-assignments/applying-for-housing.html
Thanks for sending that! I did just do a weekend workshop, so maybe that is why. I wish decisions would come sooner. The wait is killing me.
Did your housing portal show anything?
yeah that yeah that would make sense. My housing portal hasn’t changed. I will say that in years past the only accurate indicator of acceptance is your NYU applicant portal so I wouldn’t worry too much if other things change. The wait is killing me too!
I have been reading all the threads and I think the decisions will come out the 12/13th. It has usually been on Thursday. Hopefully they come out before the 15th!
@coffeeandtea does it actually allow you to start an application is what you are saying? That perhaps that is an indication that an acceptance has happened? Or are you saying that it is possible to see that just as an applicant just so that I can internalize if I understand.
@Dancer2468 Did you audition for dance, (assuming by your screen name) already or are you applying from an academic program?
@mom2020dance I am able to start a housing application for semesters through summer 2020, but I don’t think that has any correlation with acceptance.
@coffeeandtea gotcha, that is just what you were saying a message is coming up about wait listed for housing? I was going to have my D try and tell me what she saw, but I don’t wa
@mom2020dance that wasn’t on my account but on @jgj1737’s account
