I think you’re at the edge of acceptance or wait-listed. I know you can’t do much about your school grades now, but I have a couple of Canadian friends who’s aiming slightly lower than you are, with 95 average school grades min. The same goes with your SAT Reasoning. If you’re apply to NYU, then all’s great, but for Stern, you have to have at least 2250.

Also, your ECs are great, but not specifically tailored towards Business. Stern likes students who ‘dreamed’ to get into Stern, which means your EC must be very business-specific. I see more politics/human rights leadership going on, but less of Business related experiences.

I’d say retake your SAT and do something special for your EC.

I’m going to be taking SAT II Math and Literature in October, as well as the SAT I again in November. If I do well on my SAT IIs (like at least 750 for both) and get 2250 or above on my SAT I, do you think I have a good chance of being accepted? I’m currently developing an app for beauty/makeup along with a business plan for it. I also interned at a start up and am organizing a business conference — is that not enough?

Thank you so much by the way!

Also, my unweighted GPA is 3.75.

You will be fine, but possibly 2300 SAT and at least one 800 would be a safety count. Chance me back btw :)

2300 and an 800 will not make Stern a safety. With an overall 15% acceptance rate - It is very difficult to consider a Stern a safety for anyone.

I have a lot of friends with 2300+ and 3.7+ rejected at Stern. Because Stern has their pick of top notch students so make sure to spend extra time on essays as well as ECs.

What kinds of ECs did your friend have?

Bump!
