<p>ok so if everything goes as planned im applying EDI to steinhardt MCC (im also considering CAS journalism though… any suggestions?) my stats are:
GPA: 4.0 weighted (3.9 unweighted?)
SAT: CR -630 M- 650 W- 740
ACT: 28 (retaking it in fall)
-i go to a small private school (60 kids in my grad. class)
-from the southeast
-TONS of service hrs… havent counted but ive traveled to Europe and South America on mission trips as well as served in my community
-peer tutor and 8th grade mentor
-varsity tennis 4 years
-internship with film production company this summer
will have taken 7 APs by the time i graduate (above the limit that my school has)
ive taken most challenging classes my school will allow me
theres a few more ECs but thats all i can think of now… the main thing im worried about is my test scores… im only good at the Writing on everything haha.
-maybe chance me or give me some suggestions please? NYU is my dream school… i have trouble not talking about it all the time haha. its weird.</p>

<p>@audrey13 I’m also applying to Steinhardt MCC for ED1 haha our stats look similar! If you are considering journalism, that is great too. It all depends on your overall career goals i think. I would find a description for both programs on the website and see what suits you better</p>
<p>@golfgirl91 To decide whether or not you want to apply ED1, you have to think about your overall interest in the school. I, myself, am absolutely obsessed with NYU. I cannot see myself anywhere else, and it’s really all I want. Now, I’m not saying you have to be on my (probably unhealthy) level of interest in the school. My point is, a high level of interest is vital for ED1</p>
<p>@nyu427 thanks! What other schools are yall planning on applying to? While NYU is obviously my top choice, im still trying to keep my options open in case i dont get in.</p>
<p>@nyu427 Yeah, at first I was very gungho about applying ED to NYU but then I visited lehigh and some other schools and fell in love with them too. i have three or four schools i love and i know i definitely want to apply ED to one of them. it’s hard to chose one school that i love more. also i can’t decide whether to go for biomed engineering or nursing so that also changes which schools i’d apply for.</p>

<p>@nyu427 @audrey13 what would you say is easier to get into? Steinhardt MCC or CAS journalism. I have a lot of journalism credentials and accolades, such as national awards so I feel like that would help me with CAS, but I think Steinhardt MCC would be better for PR which is what I would want to do. Any ideas or suggestions??</p>
<p>@correkid ive heard that MCC is easier to get into but i honestly dont know for sure (i only know this from reading forums haha). i like MCC because of all the different routes you can take with your classes… im interested in the entertainment business so i could probably specialize it better in STeinhardt since they also have arts/music business majors. id check their website and go with what fits you the best. keep in mind that if you want to switch majors it would be between schools which ive heard is harder. id pick the SCHOOL that has the most options for you as a student (which for me is steinhardt).</p>

Already wrote the essay for the common app and it’s pretty quirky; I’m proud of it!
I’m in the IB programme with mostly a’s, hopefully theyll love that. I’m from the south and half Cuban half Italian. I do a lot of volunteer work and extracurriculars. Hopefully I can seduce them with that part of my application </p>
<p>Act scores…not too hot. 27 but 28 superscored. Darn science!!! But I’m taking the September test to get it up.
Will applying ED allow us only one more time to take the act or can I take it again in October?</p>

<p>I’m so stressed out. I have so much to do- study for my September ACT, make an official and final resume (should have done this forever ago), write an essay, etc. I want to have everything squared away by october…</p>

<p>I really hope we all get in too! I feel like we all deserve it more than some because we are all qualified for the most part and are on college forums in the summer!!! Yes, I believe the common app comes out on August 1. Someone told mr July 1 but I don’t think that’s right. I think the NYU supplement comes out around the same time. </p>
<p>Ugh I’m stressing because I’m staying with my 29. Ive taken it 5 times. Yikes, I know. I just don’t think I can risk taking it again. It’s already going to be a strike against me for taking it so many times.</p>
<p>Also I was looking at last years common app and there was a section that asked for GPA and asked if it was weighted or not. Should we just give the weighted one even though NYU cares about unweighted? And there was a section on it as well that asked for your highest subscores for the ACT so at least they will know what your highest scores were.</p>
