NYU ED1 Discussion Thread

i was actually thinking the same thing thehorde! haha but im pretty sure it’s click here for your admissions decision and then they give you a hyperlink to the actual site where you find out. that moment will undoubtedly be nerve-wracking

Thats gonna be muuuch better:) It would be terrible if I just found out looking at the title
Oh… and did any of you guys NOT receive a magazine from NYU? I keep checking my mailbox every day since I’ve seen that in this thread and nothing… Is this really bad?

I wouldn’t look too much into it

For the past two nights in a row, I’ve had nightmares about getting rejected.
I want this more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my life.

Last night’s dream was interesting though, my rejection letter began with the sentence, “I hate hambugers.” Hamburgers was a metaphor for giving rejections…

I had two dreams where I was accepted…yesterday during my after school nap, I had a dream I was rejected. I feel physically ill. This isn’t healthy :/

Haha I had pretty messed up dreams too

I really want this too

Hmm… I can’t say I’ve had any nightmares about this (not yet at least haha). I bet they’ll start kicking in early next week.

I can never concentrate in class now

Same here! I’ve had multiple dreams, one started as a dream cause I was accepted but ended as a nightmare because I was accepted as a math major when I want to do musical theater! =P finals week is going to be very interesting for me…

Here is the latest update on ED1 decisions from the NYU website:

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will begin sending admission decisions to Early Decision candidates on December 15th. Given the volume of applications we have received and to ensure accuracy of delivery, this process will take 1-2 business days and we cannot predict the exact time applicants will receive their decisions. Admission decisions will be mailed exclusively via email and those offered admission will also be mailed additional materials. Admission decisions will not be available anywhere on the NYU website and no decisions will be released over the phone under any circumstances. If you do not receive your admission decision by Monday, December 19th, you may call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to request that we re-send your admission decision. We will not fulfill any requests to re-send admission decisions before Monday, December 19th. Any request must come from the applicant and not a parent, sibling, or other relative. Those requesting that an admission decision be re-sent should be prepared to provide an alternate email address at the time of request - but again no earlier than December 19th. In the interim, applicants are advised to check their spam, trash, and junk mail folders to ensure that an admission decision was not routed to such a folder. We thank you in advance for your patience.

noo… are you kidding? :frowning: i thought we would all have them by the 15th at 5pm

[oh hey well wouldja look at that - sleep deprivation.](<a href=“sleep deprivation. - oh hey well wouldja look at that”>sleep deprivation. - oh hey well wouldja look at that)

HOW DID SHE FIND OUT SO EARLY?

She was a lucky individual.

@Liz1264

That’s crazy!! So we could find out any day now?!? Ahhhh now I’m freaking out even more!!!

Look at the date on that post 6/12/11–think the date on the notification was altered. Regardless, this post was done in the summer. So I think it is safe to assume that the notifications will start on the 15th, just as NYU has said.

@gradygrad

Where do you see 6/12/11?
I only see December 6, 2011 & that it was posted 1 hour ago

Her tumblr reverses the date to be DD/MM/YYYY, but the post is from today. I’m assuming it has to do with the fact that she’s a transfer?

Oh yeah maybe you are right, liz. Cause it says she is 20 on her tumbler.
Dang I got excited, but more nervous, by thinking I had a chance of receiving my letter any day now! I guess we will just have to wait til the 15th…

You are correct–the date is reversed. I don’t think NYU would post that ED notifications would go out on 12/15–if they didn’t mean it. Especially since they have now updated the site to say that some notifications might not be received until two days later. She probably is a transfer.

@gradygrad

Yeah sorry, I was looking at the tumbler post on my phone & I couldn’t see the reverse date so I was confused. But I think you are right. Since the NYU website specifically said that, I’m assuming between the 15th and the 19th is when we will all receive our emails. more waiting :/
