My gosh the decision threads of Columbia and Cornell are depressing… People with 2300~ getting rejected or deferred… What the…

Yeah, I cried a bit after seeing those threads.

I did sent it in …but now they told me to email some other info …so is this a good sign???

Well, I personally don’t know because I sent in my CSS forms late. It’s all up in the air.

What other info did they request of you to send? And when did you send your CSS profile? I personally sent mine the weekend before the 15th, so like November 12th or 13th but I haven’t gotten any e-mail for addition financial aid info.

i sent mine on time , and i just wondering they must have looked throught my css profile to know that i am missing something … and if i got deny y would they still want it cuz is useless anyway

@heartlife

Oh yeah that’s true. Well best of luck! We will all find out in about 6 days!!!

Wish there was a fast forward button in my life. I don’t think any of us should worry though. I mean its NYU, not harvard or yale or something like that. If it’s any comfort to some of you, the average SAT score to be admitted into NYU overall from my school was a 1950. Dunno about Stern though. Regardless I am scared to the max =[ This is the only thing I have left D=

From my school the accepted SAT average is a 2023, ACT 30, and the GPA is 3.83 (4.5 scale)

I just want in

Hahah im panicking im really really worried that even if i do get in then i wont receive enough financial aid to go. which would be awful

^ I’m in the same boat. My family’s poor, lol

How do you guys know the average for your school?

There’s a sheet with the average SAT scores of everybody accepted to certain schools hanging on my classroom’s door. For example MIT is like 2280, Yale 2230, etc.

My school uses a website called Naviance where we all have accounts and keep track of our college stuff. You can look up any college and see things like how many people applied to the college vs. how many were accepted and things like that. It shows average stats, and then you can click a graph of accepted and denied and it shows where you show up on that graph. It’s really helpful since it is all specific to your high school. You can even see the difference between early decision and regular :)

@Noldi

if you guys cant afford it then why would you apply early decision one then? There is barley any financial aid for ed students and signing the ED contract means that you confirm that you will pay it if accepted and that you can afford it/will bring the money on your own (bank loans for example).
the principal is that if admitted, you definitely will enroll.

If you are not planning on paying for it (or a loan from the bank) why would you not just apply regular decision? The bottom line is that it takes up spots that you may not fill. (that is if you don’t borrow money or have it in mind to pay for). The financial aid for ED is really really slim…

I called them and they said the financial aid is the same for ED and Regular Decision…

no, i believe the financial aid for ED1 was due Nov 15th

@childish
I believe they are talking about the amount of financial aid given out to ED & RD, not the date when the financial aid forms were due

ED FA should be less than RD, but won’t be by that much. Only difference is that you can’t compare it with other schools.
