NYU ED1 Discussion Thread

who are all the people in this thread who applied to Tisch? Any for acting, specifically musical theater? I feel like I’m all alone surrounded by CAS & Stern applicants =P

btw my albert still says tisch. no change to lsp for me. but best of luck to those of you who’s did change! hopefully it means you are in! && as i’ve said many times, good luck to the rest of you too! we are almost done going through this stressful roller coaster! hopefully we will all be students in the fall together!! (:

Thank you. Best luck 2more days and Christmas break wooohhhoooo

Stern and tisch do not get deferred to LSP
Only accept or reject for us

My school is:
2011: 43 apply/19 admit
2010: 39 apply/17 admit
2009: 35 apply/15 admit
2008: 43 apply/12 admit
2007: 39 apply/10 admit

Average GPA is a 4.36 out of 5.3 and 2074 SAT and 29 ACT

2 days!!!

Sooo, has anyone applied to Tisch Photo & Imaging?? I think my stats and portfolio are pretty good but they only accept ~8% of applicants. SOOOOO NERVOUS! <3pounding. Plus im from po-dunk kansas :] lol

Decisions are 3 days away and i am really starting to get nervous… I applied to CAS and my stats are pretty good. Does anyone know if NYU is big on legacy, my dad graduated from stern undergrad and grad school

How is ur dad doing after gradding from stern? ^
LOL legit question.

Guys, add your names to the pledge thread if you haven’t done so already. Thanks! Good luck.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1256363-official-nyu-2016-ed-pledge-thread-2.html

not sure how that relates lol but he has done very well… i wonder how much nyu takes legacy into consideration as they never asked if you have a relative who went or currently goes to NYU… but then again, in the parental information section of the common app, you indicate where your parents graduated from

No, just wondering the job prospects after gradding from Stern.

I’m pretty sure legacy will help, but it won’t be nearly as big as some of the other schools, e.g. Princeton and Duke.

@cliffhanger loll i know Sternies generally do pretty well, but I’ve also heard that it’s really difficult for internationals to get internships cuz of visa issues… =

Yeah I heard that too. It’s going to be tough.

@heartlife

i just googled horoscopes for capricorn xD
i also saw on yahoo that december 15th is a day i need to be proud of…

just for the record — applied ed1 to tisch clive davis for recorded music…

haven’t seen anyone else here who applied there…

edit: i’ve been a lurker for a while but the pressure has me posting again

Wow I and a Capricorn too… good luck

@tidalwave
Hi! Sorry but can I know your stats? I applied to pre-law too and it’s rare to see people who apply to it.
And to everyone else… hi! Fellow ED applicant here. Lol, I just googled my horoscope for December. Lets see what it says.

“You may feel anxious and on the horns of a dilemma, unable to see the road ahead clearly.”

-well you got that right. xD

I hope you guys all get in. I myself am applying the ED2 round, but I’ve stopped thinking about it really. Honestly, I was super frantic and posted like seven chance threads in a week in many forums. I got a ton of responses, and none of them can be really perfect. Honestly, I’m just going to see what happens. If I don’t get into NYU, I’ll find my place. And so will you guys, so don’t worry! Good luck all (:

@sarora
you rock, good luck!

you’re right, im sure we’ll all be happy wherever we end up…but hopefully we all end up nyu haha

Hey everyone,
I applied ED1 too. Needless to say, it’s the only thing I can focus on and it seems like I’m in good company. Haha. Anyways, I applied to CAS for Art History and I had the same problem with my application status changing to GLS in the core program. I called the office of undergraduate admissions and they said not to worry- that it was just a problem with albert since it’s a relatively new system. Just thought I’d pass this news along!
