Just be hopeful, the theory of this
aid changes is quite true after making
research n asking several questions to NYU current students. I contacted a lot
of the accepted candidates in Ed1 they said it
holds. which of the Nyu campuses you applied
to?
@park100 I’m applying to New York campus and I dont have a secondary campus interest… I’m just REALLY nervous… So it is highly possible that if my FA says 2016 New York University Award access not available I’m in?
yea sure. (according to previous admitted students) so let’s keep our fingers acros
I think got the change!! Domestic ED II Primary - Stern! Secondary - Shanghai! I did an interview for Shanghai as well!
@johnbourdain when was your interview date at NYU shanghai?
Are you also invited by stern for an interview?
@park100
Interviewed 01/26 at NYUSH. No interview for Stern. Is it possible that I was rejected by Stern and admitted to CAS, and that’s why I got the change?
lols for the Stern n Cas I got a very little idea about RIT. Anyway when do you observe the change in Fa?
i still have no FA change so im losing hope hahaah im domestic stern applicant XD
@rainydayzzzz I’m a Gallatin applicant and no change. I’m also losing hope. But I’m thinking that maybe the fact that I changed my app from RD to ED 2 on like Jan 4th is why I don’t have the change?
^Same
im sure i didnt get in but you guys shdnt lose hope. NYU has a massive ED2 pool just wait it out.
THERE IS STILL TIME
@alexx09
I changed my application from RD to ED II on January 10, applied last minute, and did not apply for FA, but still got the FA change. If you haven’t gotten the FA change by now, there’s still a ton of time, anyways… people were getting the change in previous years up to three days before.
Those who got the change -
what are your stats?

Essays:
Very strong, interesting essays for both supplemental and Common App. My college counselor said it was the best he had ever read, no exaggeration.
Recommendations:
Two strong teacher recommendations and another one from my Mock Trial Team lawyer advisor.
Also, at my school guidance counselor recommendations are required, and my guidance counselor and I had a terrible relationship. He told me he would write on my recommendation that I cared more about the grades than the actual learning, which is ironic considering I am far from a straight-A student.
Other factors to consider:
I am ridiculously bad at math and science. I had a C in Advanced Geometry (geometry with precalculus elements for freshmen, a level above honors but below AP), a B+ in Advanced Algebra (accelerated algebra with precalculus elements, also a level above honors but below AP), a C+ in honors Precalculus and currently, a C in AB Calculus.
I have an upwards trend with a 3.1 freshman year, 3.45ish sophomore year, and 3.75ish junior year.
I have gotten the FA Change already, but who knows what that could mean.
I am a mixed Japanese/Korean female from a highly-ranked public school in Connecticut.
I got the FA change on 01/31/15
Applied to Stern Primary and CAS Secondary (I don’t even know why I did CAS secondary, I wouldn’t go to NYU if I only got into CAS)

Essays written really well:
- One about standing up to my family and eradicating the negative connotation towards homosexuals.
- In the additional information section I wrote about my life long love for photography/blogging and making a business and a lot of money off of it.
- In the supplement I wrote about Stern’s programs I loved and I talked about my blogging business
Didn’t look at them but I should have good teacher recommendations from my economics teacher/FBLA Club Advisor and another from AP Calculus Teacher. They both liked me in class so I hope they are good.
Counselor recommendation should be solid as well, we get along very nicely and she is an amazing counselor who really cares for her students.
I’m Japanese too! And did you apply to Stern? Probably low match Stern, high match CAS.
@johnbourdain
Did not apply to Stern… again, I had a terrible relationship with my counselor, and I ended up not applying to a lot of my top choices because I knew there was no point because my recommendation from him was so bad! Anyways, I exclusively ED II’d into CAS.
But do you think the recommendation and terrible math grades overall kill my chances for CAS?
ughhh. this whole fa change thing is stressing me out ;;; something tells me i got rejected ((haven’t gotten the fa change yet)).
i do have a question though!
does anyone know if nyu defers students from the ed ii wave to the rd wave?
@littlemissbang
No, they do not defer students to the RD pool. But don’t worry if you didn’t get the FA change… there’s still time, and some people don’t get it and get in anyways!
okay that’s what i thought.
i’ll be crossing my fingers ^^ best of luck to the rest of us ~
