NYU ED2 2019 Discussion/Decision Thread

I really really hope the theory holds true for international applicants :frowning:

@Hodor11ā€Œ haha i am still worried I donā€™t know why. I feel like maybe I am one of those ā€œrareā€ cases where I get admitted into CAS and not Stern. I actually emailed NYU Admissions telling them to remove CAS as my secondary choice and they said:

ā€œThank you for contacting Undergraduate Admissions to update your file. Weā€™ve updated the information you requested. Of course, if you have any questions regarding this you are welcome to reply to this email or call us at 212-998-4500.ā€

So its either Stern or nothing for me! I am a domestic applicant!

What are your stats? @boogapenguinā€Œ

@ā€Œboogapenguin

I wouldnā€™t worry about thatā€¦ Itā€™s very rare for someone who applied to another school who put CAS as an alternative to get into CAS. Also, on your FA change, I think there would be a sign if your school or campus changed.

@bismarck1996ā€Œ I just did it because a friend last year got into CAS as secondary and not Stern so I was worried the same would happen to me

Essays written really well:

  1. One about standing up to my family and eradicating the negative connotation towards homosexuals.
  2. In the additional information section I wrote about my life long love for photography/blogging and making a business and a lot of money off of it.
  3. In the supplement I wrote about Sternā€™s programs I loved and I talked about my blogging business

Didnā€™t look at them but I should have good teacher recommendations from my economics teacher/FBLA Club Advisor and another from AP Calculus Teacher. They both liked me in class so I hope they are good.

Counselor recommendation should be solid as well, we get along very nicely and she is an amazing counselor who really cares for her students.

Iā€™m an International applicant, got the fa change yesterday, applied for lil amount of aidā€¦ should i be happy? :S

@chbilalā€Œ Itā€™s not a guarantee, especially for internationals according to past threads, but itā€™s not a bad sign! :slight_smile:

Does anyone have the FA change with 2015 instead of 2016? What does it mean?

I wonder who reads Gallatin applications? Your regional officers? or Gallatin-specific ones? Same goes for other schoolsā€¦?

I still did not have any change with my fa. I have applied as an ED2 to stern. Im very upset, literally i have no idea if i should wait and check it every hour or just realize that they truly rejected meā€¦

The only thing it says is just ā€œaward access not availableā€. Thats the only thing there. What should i think? ā€¦ Im an international student

@thepatzaeā€Œ thereā€™s time still; keep calm and wait for the 15th

@ImNYUobsessedā€Œ but basically, it does not mean something good for me, does it? :frowning:

@thepatzae if it makes you feel any better, iā€™m in the same boat ;;;

@littlemissbang actually it does, because then I feel like maybe we need to wait a little moreā€¦ I really donā€™t know what to do, I have found something about that on weekends they are most likely to update thoseā€¦ omg, I donā€™t know. for me itā€™s obvious that I will be rejected but I did not expect the reality to punch me in the face that early. where did you apply? can you tell me about if youā€™re ed, were did you apply, how does it look like in your situation

@thepatzae Iā€™m in the same boat. To make it worse my application status shows that they have not reviewed my standardized test scores. I emailed them on 4th and they have not yet replied. I feel like I have already been rejected.

@thepatzaeā€Œ Do they work on weekends? I donā€™t think soā€¦ Plus, we are in the same situation!

@ellelamoirā€Œ they couldnā€™t have rejected you if they havenā€™t even received your test scores!! But do call your SAT/ACT/whatever office to confirm that they HAVE sent it to NYU. Then call admissions - theyā€™ll pick up.

@thepatzaeā€Œ no reallyā€¦thereā€™s time! The admissions office may not even have reviewed your application yet, because the admissions officer told me a few days ago that theyā€™re still working a lot (in an email)

@ellelamoirā€Œ @ImNYUobsessedā€Œ i guess, hmm. i would love them to basically wait for my scores of sat from feb 12th because they could significantly change my situation. i was begging them for that. i still feel like i have been rejected already, but keep in touch people and if you know something or i will know, share it together okay? good luck, i would love to meet you in nyu and hangout to starbucks someday

If youā€™re a US citizen living abroad, do you count as a domestic or an international student?
