NYU ED2 2019 Discussion/Decision Thread

I think its too late to send anything to NYU at this point. Sorry!

Guys, does the FA change hold true for Poly??

Applied to Tisch and still get no FA change. After reading all these threads I’m losing hope

the thing about why the FA change theory is entirely unreliable is that it’s not exact. there’s always outliers, and u have no idea who the outlier is going to be- and u really don’t want to run the risk of YOU being the outlier.

there are people who didn’t get the FA change, but still got accepted.

@thotowoes‌

But there is a pattern to the outliers, and if you can determine that pattern, then you can tell if you’re an outlier or not.

@bismarck1996‌ what’s the pattern of the outliers?

@‌flyingox

International students, Tisch, and legacies don’t count as for the FA change. I don’t have a set answer on this, but this is just from my trolling CC.

@bismarck1996‌ So if you don’t fall under any of those patterns is it safe to assume that you have a really really good shot at getting accepted?

Has anyone (domestic) actually not gotten the change?

@EhnWhyYou‌

Yeah idk that’s just my guess. I’m not an expert, but I just think if you’re applying to CAS or Stern, the change should apply to you!

I still haven’t gotten the change (if i ever do) so i highly doubt my acceptance, which is completely and totally upsetting

I wouldn’t worry too much about the FA change. I was reading through the ED1 thread and it seems like the majority of people got the fa change the day before or the day of decisions, so if you havent gotten it yet, it’s likely not that big of a deal.

  • Again, this is just a myth and like someone mentioned before, it's entirely possible to accepted without the fa change.

@bismarck1996‌ Meep but what if I didn’t apply to either CAS or Stern (I actually applied to SCPS)?..what would that mean? Would you know if that would change anything?

So, theoretically, if i gave them more information to note on my application recently, then maybe my decision was pushed back and i won’t get a change until day of/day before? Lets hope…

All three of my friends that applied to Tisch got the change so I’m not sure if those are necessarily outliers.

Guys, are there many international students who got FA change didn’t get in?? Or only a few?
I am wondering how much possibility that international students who get FA can be accepted…

The pattern that outliers may be applicants for tisch, internationals etc. could look fine at a first glance. Then someone has said that actually those who applied for stern should get their change. What if I’m international and I have applied to stern and still I did not get my fa change? It looks like there is a sequence even for that; probably I’m mostly international and that makes me an outlier, not the second fact that I applied to stern or whatever else.

Okay so I have a question for you all! I got the FA change and as of today, it had said 2016. However, I just logged on, and now, in addition to 2016, it also says 2015. Is this good or bad…? I haven’t seen anyone else have this yet.

@tsmith97 thats not accurate FA changes usually end around 5 days before decision day

Is there anyone here who is from Africa?
