NYU EDII Class of 2017 Discussion Thread

I am freaking out as well!!

I’m in the same boat with the top 30% ranking and lower GPA. My GPA weighted cumulative is only a 3.95, but this year and last year it was over a 4.5. I hope the upward trend and hard class schedule (12 APs by graduation) will make up for it.

I sent in SATs (2220), ACTs (34), and two SAT IIs (Math II, 760) (US History, 700).

I applied CAS for Politics. NYU is my dream school, the 15th is going to be a stressful day hanaha :)

Are you joking
You are so in…

Anyone know what the ED 2 acceptance rate is?

^Should be similar to the overall NYU Admission rate, possibly a little bit higher. The reason its not that much higher is that generally, the pool who applies ED 2 to NYU may not be as strong as those applying RD, as in RD you have the Ivy, MIT applicants to apply NYU as a safety, where’s ED 2 many people use it as a reach/higher reach, and this is often reflected in the acceptance rates.

I keep checking my Albert for changes. These two weeks couldn’t go by any slower.

applied ED2 to stern! any stern-ies out there? just wanna know your stats? i think im on the lower end tbhh. hopefully essays do the trickk.

btw, is it good to send a letter of rec writen by one of the mangement heads from the firm you interned at?

So I kinda had a major case of senioritis last quarter… (first quarter was pretty solid though). So I am very hesitant to send my semester grades, does anyone know if you have to?

You don’t have to for ED II. But you will have to eventually, assuming you get in, so make sure that senioritis doesn’t get too bad.

Phhhhhew (huge sigh of relief). My seniorists should get too bad as I am predicting a mix of As and Bs with the occasional high C. Hopefully that wouldnt be grounds for rescinding my admissions on the off chance that I get in.

Sternie here! International Applicant from India!
Here are ny rough stats…
SAT 2260 Math 800 CR 700 Writing 760
School grades: not so good because follows very stringent graing system but then again in the top 5% of class
SAT II: Math IIC: 800
Recs: Amazing, quite personal and insightful
Essays: i’d say ther were good…
Damn i really wanna go to stern! Killforstern can we have your stats please?

Forgot about my ECs… Here they go: Keyboardist of a professional band… We play at several pubs and bars in the city… Music director of a short film released commercially… Fitness expert with over 5000 followers on facebook… International schools dont really have clubs and stuff, so thats about my most important ECs…

The acceptance rate for EDII applicants was 18% in 2011.

I’m beyond nervous about this. The next 10 days are going to be torturous.

Why would it be lower for ED…? Isn’t it supposed to be 39% or something

the NYU pamphlets say roughly 39% for both ED’s. where did the 18% come from??

Has anyone’s financial aid changed to 2014? Or have they received anything from NYU?

I keep checking my Albert but nothing has changed for me. Reading the old threads, I think people didn’t see changes up until as much as a week from the decision date.

T- 10 days!
It is such a strange feeling to know that my application is probably already published and it is just sitting in their offices!

What’s even more strange is that I’m on the other side of the screen; for three years, I have stared at the nervous reactions of those in CC waiting for their decision. The role has been switched. What goes around does come back around. Lol

The 18% acceptance rate was when ED II first came into existence - the ED I and II acceptance rate is probably more similar now.
