I’ll come back and post whether or not I got in on April 1st.

rejected (no change)

So in summary for future applicants… Change in FA = Acceptance, No Change = Rejection. Best of luck to everyone that was not admitted, you guys will find a place that is better for you. For those accepted, look forward to seeing you guys next year!!

probably a stupid question, but is this in any way an indicator for the regular decision pool? I know it is impossible to tell since decisions are not up yet, but what are the chances that this also applies?

My son is an RD applicant and his financial aid has already changed to the 2014 message. He submitted his application for RD back in October though. Hope this is good news for him. Good luck to you!

Mine has also changed. To check if this was a common occurrence, I asked my friends who also applied and all of them had no change. I applied the first of January so I doubt they’d come to a decision already, but it’s some hope to a student who believes they’re really not getting in.

@mcskillicat They might have accepted you already. They probably do the acceptances over a period of time. Good luck!

I applied RD and my financial aid has not changed. I think I have a decent chance of getting in so I’m hoping that this means nothing!

ME too. I applied RD and nothing changed. I just have an accept/decline link even though there is no financial aid. Hopefully, it will change later

Just a quick update: I have been talking with all my fellow CW-ers and the fact is that the ones who had the change of their FA status into 2014 “Award acess not available” got in, and the ones who didn’t have the change or had a different year instead of 2014 didn’t get in. It’s a sure thing now.

I’m pretty sure this change isn’t a theory anymore…

So, is it a problem if a RD applicant’s FA didn’t change yet??

Can someone explain this little theory to me? Where do I check mine?

OK, this makes sense but HOW LONG BEFORE you find out did the status change?

Yeah, I was skeptical but after hearing everyone’s reports, it is basically established.

Keep in mind that it says “No financial aid info found” for everyone at first, and only after a period of time did it change. I believe it was first noticed for EDI on December 15th, only three days before decisions were set to be released. Therefore, don’t freak out if you are an RD applicant and you haven’t had a change yet- keep checking College Confidential- the moment someones status changes there will be threads about it, so then you can check your Albert account to see if yours changed or not.

Good luck, I think this aid thing REALLY needs to be worked out at NYU’s offices, this is not the way students should be hearing back if they were accepted or not. This should not be happening if you ask me.

@Kemppp

You can check to see if your FA changed by logging onto your NYU Home page (you should have established a username/password in your application confirmation emails- there should also be a link in there to log onto the home page), clicking on “Albert Login”, then on the right under “Financial Aid” click on “Financial Aid Summary”. Look at 2014 then under “Year Aid Description” you can see if it says “Award Access Not Available” or “There is no financial aid information found”. (the theory is if it says not available, you will be accepted, and if it says no info found you will be rejected)

Cousin applied ED2. Never got financial aid change and ended up not being accepted.

As of March 3rd, my account has the 2014 financial aid message whereas before it said no financial aid info available.

CX380LAX did you apply RD or ED? Have you been accepted?
