& CAS biology

hey everyone, I’ve been lurking on the ED 2 threads and I saw this thread and I logged into the housing application and it says “freshman in NYC” for me  however, I applied regular decision and I haven’t even submitted my mid-year reports…do you guys think that this is just a glitch for me? How could they already have my decision if I didn’t apply early? Lol I don’t want to get my hopes up…I’m not sure if this actually means that I have a significant shot at getting in or if its just a glitch  What do you all think?

also this is my first time logging into the housing portal so I never saw if it turned from “nonrenewable” to “freshman in nyc”

Housing Change: NO
SAT/ACT: 2140 SAT
GPA: 3.5/4.1

@co0kiez i don’t think you have to submit your mid-year report to be considered.

@pizzaandpeonies hmm then this may be a good sign for me! Idk tho…i dont want to get my hopes up tho. it seems odd that they would already have a decision when I didn’t apply ED.

To be honest it seems odd that people are getting changes so early in the decision process. I hope that everyone here on CC gets admitted; everyone here is really nice, but everything is going much differently compared to when I applied ED1 and looking back on previous years. Hopefully they’re not punishing us CC users by implanting false hope by randomly changing housing statuses because of so many people filling out housing applications before acceptance from CC.

I truly doubt they’ve already started accepting people, especially for RD applicants, since their process is so holistic and they have to be weary of space.

Either way, whether or not the housing theory is correct this time around, just remember: Even though there was a high correlation between having a housing change and getting accepted, there were still plenty of people who did not receive the change and still got an acceptance, so don’t lose hope if a change does not come!

May I ask what you scores and GPA are?

@adreamer22 That would be extremely messed up if they gave students false hope by randomly changing housing statuses.

Just a quick question guys, even though I got housing change, does that mean there is still a possibility that I might br turned to LSP? (even though I did not list it in my second choice but I still knew someone who got the offer from LSP without choosing it so I am a little worried)… Or maybe at this point they only change the housing for those who get accepted with their first choice?

@kker98 If you got turned to LSP would you still go since it wouldn’t be a binding agreement anymore?

@booyakah I wouldn’t because I don’t think it’s the right program for me… I don’t want to spend 2 years to study the things I don’t like and I’m certainly not paying that much tuition for LSP

@adreamer22 , i agree with you. Since these “change” theories have, tremendously influence on the overall NYU admissions, i think they may give false “indicators” by making those changes to random people. Anyway, i haven’t received the change yet.

@adreamer22 @Chalamagne916 while it is weird it’s so early, i highly doubt they’re checking college confidential and are like: let’s confuse them! LOL, that is just so unrealistic and silly. i do think they would have an idea of if some people are accepted in this ED2 pool since decisions are not all that far away, but it is weird for RD. but yeah this doesnt actually matter since this is truly just a theory and none of us actually know but i don’t think anyone needs to be paranoid about if they check this because they really don’t
