Does anybody know of an email address for admissions at NYU? I need to contact them, but don't want to post on the bulletin board on their site. Also, I can't call anytime this week during office hours. Thanks!

Check your PM. :)

Thanks so much!

alwaysmom or cem, I'd like to email them too. Can you PM it to me? =)

ya why is the email so embedded in nyu.edu, it took me like 10 minutes to find it when I originally looked back in the day.

Sorry, but I can't really provide it to a group of people. Your best bet is to call the admissions office, or post on their bulletin board if you have a question. Sometimes they even post the email address there.

Matt, I think the answer to your question is fairly simple. With over 30,000 applicants, they don't want people emailing them with every simple question. They figure if it's important, you'll call and they'll handle the question on the spot. With email, then someone is required to reply.

why cant you post it? its on the website somewhere next the the phone number, I just dont remember where.

To my knowledge, the email address I have is not posted on the website. It is sometimes provided, as I said, on the b/b. Here is a link to the admissions page which has an online contact information form.

UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS

they put the admissions email, which is the same for all schools, on the individual school pages, but not the main undergrad admissions page
http://www.nyu.edu/stern.nyu has it for example

Well, good, that's a start for those who need it. It isn't the one I have, which is for an individual in Admissions but the one you posted may help others. :)

after you email there, an individual person emails you back (or did in my case)

You can get access to the email addresses in the NYU database if you have activated your NYU Home account. I'd like to see if someone can try this. I was able to find out my university id and set up my nyu.edu account way before I was ever registered or even heard anything about it from the school.

Go to this page and follow the directions:
https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi

so i can get a nyu email now?

You have to go the page I posted above and see if it works. It did for me. I've now got my NYU email account and access to the student system.

how do i get my nyu id? i tried my SS but it didnt work

Well, then they're probably not allowing you to do it yet. I didn't find out my NYU Id until I registered like that with my SSN. So, if it doesn't work for you, they probably haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been enrolled to start in this coming semester (my orientation is tomorrow) and I got into my NYU Home account about a month ago. I hadn't tried it before that, so I don't know when they make this available. Either way, I never heard about it from NYU, but rather from a current student.

That explains it... yours is set up because the semester starts next week. It's not set up for next year's freshmen though.
