Hey I'm going to be a freshman in the fall 05 semester, and while I know where I'm heded academically, I have questions regarding extracurricular activities at NYU.
I just got my NYS EMT-B license this past month, and would be extremely interested in working on an ambulance in the city maybe 2 or 3 nights a week. It interests me, and I'd like to get the experience.
So now, my question: Does NYU, or anywhere in the area, have an ambulance corps.? I'd rather it be a paying job, but volunteer is OK too. I thought maybe around campus there would be some kind of NYU sponsored group, part of the university. All right, thanks!

Bump!!!!!!!!

I do not believe NYU has an ambulence corps. At least not one that has All-Square (University funding) status. But (depending on where you dorm), Beth Israel is on Union Square, and St. Vincent's is in the West Village. And maybe if there are other people as interested as you are, you could start a club.

do a google search for EMT jobs NYC and you will get tons of info. After a quick glance, it seems private ambulance services or "voluntary hospitals" would be your best bet. Check it out and good luck. I'm sure you will find something, if not check out EMT jobs and/or volunteering in NJ, its close by and alot of ambulance corps really need volunteers in NJ
