Are you planning on transferring during your freshman year? If so, then the admission officers are going to weigh your HS performance and GPA, along with SAT scores, more heavily than your college GPA. Also, which school are you transferring from and why NYU. This is an essay question that you’ll encounter when you’re applying through the common app. If you have a decent HS GPA, good SAT scores, and maintain a 3.5 or higher in college then I would assume you stand a good chance for acceptance to CAS. But again, and please don’t let this discourage you, sometimes it’s not all about stellar grades and awards. The admission committee want to understand who you are as a person, why do you want to attend NYU, any adversities that shaped your intellectual pursuits/curisoity, where you were and how far you’ve come. Keep this in mind when you’re writing your essays.

I am applying freshman year I guess the application for the Fall is due in April. I am asking for recommendations from 2 professors I am taking this year in small tight knit classed one with 11 other students and the other about 15. I had an average of 87 or so during highschool (I really screwed freshman year up) and an SAT of 1800-1900 I took it twice, should I take it again, because I would probably score higher.
