Hey guys, was wondering if one of you could chance me, and give advice!
SAT 1870 (670 CR 600 M), although I still haven’t sent the scores in, I’ll have 60 credits by may so they won’t need it. Do you think a high CR (not even too high for nyu, just on their range) would help someone applying to MCC?
GPA: 3.64 after 3 semesters. My last semester was strong. I had 2 A, 2 A- and a P with honors for TAing an eco100 class.
I also have two jobs on campus, which were my only extra curriculars. I’m hoping I get a pass for a lack of extra curriculars. I had over 25 hours a week just towards my on campus jobs, with another 5 going to TAing (not including in class hours. I mention I took the jobs too help pay for college (which is true.) One job is office oriented, the other is at the dining hall scrubbing dishes!
TAing as a 1st semester sophomore is pretty rare, I hope this helps my app!
I am an eco major right now, with one of my recommendations coming from my first eco professor, who is also the professor I TAd for, as well as my boss at one of my on campus jobs. Should get a pretty strong rec from him
There is no media major at my school, but they have a modern media class which I aced. The professor really loves me and is gonna write me sick rec.
My essay was pretty good, maybe a lil generic, same with my Why NYU portion.
My biggest weakness is extracurriculars, also my midterm grades are meh, although my upper divisions don’t submit at my school. They told me they won’t need them.
Whats up everyone! figured I’d post my stats on here for chancing or advice.

On Albert it says, decisions for Fall 2016 transfer students will be e-mailed beginning in early May.
But I guess the decisions will be released starting from mid-April according to the thread from last year.
@paradiseeee Right? I just want to know NOW! One of my other friends applied to transfer to another school within the city and she hears back by March 31st. I wish NYU would just release our decisions on a specific date so I would have like a day to wait for…
@Baabsssssss I actually have no life so I sat and went through like all 100 pages of last year’s thread (and got really emotionally invested in finding out if certain users got in) and the decisions went SO late like I don’t think I can handle waiting until late May omg
Also @Baabsssssss, I submitted my transcripts and other paperwork in February but the only thing that’s checked off on the Albert Portal is the application fee and the test scores that I chose to send from HS. But last year’s applicants had issues with it too-- sometimes they got a decision before the portal was ever even updated. If it’s still not up by around mid April, maybe I would call and ask them? It probably takes a while for them given the number of apps they receive
@dreamingofnyu19 I submitted my app in February too. Albert says its gonna take em 4 weeks to update the checklist. I wonder why it takes sooo long. I am currently in another UAA member school. I really really want em to release the decision asap. If they are gonna reject me, they’d better send out the letter once they made the decision.
My Albert application status seems a little bit weird, but I have contacted to the person who responded to my email. He told me to check back later, cuz they might not update immediately.
It seems like NYU doesn’t release the decision regularly. Some received their decisions by May last year, some didnot get their result until the end of June. This is just so ridiculous for a famous school like that.
Oh yeah, it’s ridiculous of them to extend it into June, especially if people are applying to multiple schools (I’m not personally) and need to respond to them in a timely manner…it’s also just cruel for us lol
Hi guys, I submitted my application back in mid February. I had my school mail an official copy of my transcript to NYU. A little over a week ago I called NYU to double check that they had my transcript–even though it was checked off on my Albert account–they in fact did not have my transcript so I had to resubmit it. Obviously there could have been errors on my schools end or NYU’s, but it was still an unpleasant experience to find out that my application wasn’t complete when I thought it was.
All that to say, make sure your things are squared away–especially with the decision period approaching.
Best of luck to all of you! Please continue to share updates!
