NYU Fall 2016 Transfers Official Thread

Asking ONE person to decline their offer from the thousands who will receive admissions is ridiculous haha

@ccdddjj 71k in the form of scholarships/grants or does that include loans?

Again this is not for me. Just common decency. Also there won’t be thousands transferring in. Haha back to you.

@yyyyyyyy yea, that doesn’t make sense. Someone in this thread got accepted to the major as I applied to. He/She submitted his/her app on March 31st, and I submitted mine early March, still haven’t hear anything back yet. Maybe they pick the best applicant from the pool first i guess?

@yyyyyyyy When you sent in your transfer application doesn’t matter. Schools tell the students they really want early on and after seeing how many freshman accept offers after May 1st, fill in the rest of their slots. My boyfriend turned in his application literally a day before the April 1st deadline and got his decision back on April 7th… He’s a National Merit Scholar Finalist though so I think they prioritize admitting students with high SAT/ACT and GPA first.

@liveyourlife26 i understand that. For those who got decision very early all have very strong application. But now it’s already May and some people also got their rejection letter as well from the same school. I initially though they would review application based on the date we submitted our applications on the rolling basis in May but they dont. So I dont know how long i still need to wait for the decision. The waiting makes me feel terrible because I probably will wait until the end of May to hear my decision since the whole process is random.

@waffle111 I’m not sure because some got their rejectons as well.

@cerniglie No I haven’t heard anything yet:( I applied to the Cinema Studies program

Is the end of May the latest transfers will hear back or could it be sometime in June? Has anyone been told a date/

Has anyone heard back from CAS for Jouralism?

@fitnyc I applied to CAS for Journalism and have not heard back yet!!

Just Fin aid. No loans.

@MassAnonymous I called and they said by June 1st

Has anyone been accepted for philosophy? If so, what were your stats?

Someone on this thread said May 15th is latest they are trying to get decisions out by… However, if it is June 1st that isn’t so far away either

I sent them a link to my website on the application, but it has not been viewed yet. Is that a bad sign?

I wonder if there’s anybody who got waitlisted…I mean other universities have sent out many waitlist notifications but for NYU they’ve been sending out accept/reject only

3.66 CGPA. What were your stats?

Hey guys dont assume the worst if you havent gotten your decision yet. Last year most people got their decisions around the 15th of May. I dont think they review applications in any particular order.
