I honestly don’t think NYU received so many application this year. I observed last three year admission blog and they made a huge deal about their record-breaking applicants every year but I don’t see it this year. I think they post that news just out of PR propose.
@paradiseeee do you happen to know how many transfers they usually accept?
@paradiseeee i agree honestly. plus this thread is SO much less active than threads from previous years
@acceptmepls123 The last five years according to Common Data Sets:
Accepted/Applied - %
11/12: 1624/5597 - 29.0%
12/13: 1457/6067 - 24.0%
13/14: 1760/6110 - 28.8%
14/15: 1883/6545 - 28.8%
15/16: 2125/7685 - 27.7%
This also supports record applications every year theory. Their volume of applications has increased 27% over those five years, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it tops 8,000 this year.
Does anyone know how selective CAS is for transfer admission? Anyone applying to CAS?
Not to freak anybody out or anything, but I would expect the first decisions to come trickling in by Monday (the 10th). Historically, they’ve been released on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s starting the first week of April (so maybe even tomorrow), but last year they were primarily released in bundles on every Monday starting the second Monday of the month.
i hope i die im so scared
considering that only my test scores are checked off on Albert, I don’t think I’m hearing back from NYU on Monday…
Lol! No worries.
Usually, from what I noticed, the first ones to come were those who submitted apps EARLY, like in December and January, though there were a few I noticed who would receive a two week turn around, submitting their app on the deadline day and hearing back by tax day.
Pretty much everyone heard back by early May.
AhhhHhhhHhhHHHHHHHHH
An inner dialogue
All I know is that if I get in, I’m publicly calling out the Sprouse twins on Twitter because an acceptance would clearly make me as intellectual and popular as they are and if they disagree we can fight in the front lobby of the Tipton.
LOL
@lillyJ678564 Yeah I’m trying for CAS.
I’m so nervous I can’t even concentrate on my current semester coursework. I’m like forgetting HW lol
Same! Which major are you in? I’m an English major
@thecitystars Oh cool… I’m an Economics Major … thinking about doing double Econ/Math
hi guys, i’m a CS major looking to transfer to CAS/Tandon. Has anyone heard anything back from admissions? I’ve just received an email from them asking me for my mid terms, college transfer report and high school transcript even though i’ve sent them the materials a few weeks ago…
@cjeong98 I did, took a gap year and applied with ED this year but didn’t get in lol. And if I’m being honest I hope you get in but I’ve heard like barely any Stern external transfers get in despite how good they are, because aside from being the hardest school there’s a lot of internal transfers applying as well, for them, it’s super competitive too despite getting the first priority. Like I’ve seen NYU admissions straight up discourage external transfers to apply to stern because they turn down really good applications just because they have no space. Regardless I still hope it works out for you!
@paradiseeee oh yeah I’ve seen you in the previous threads! I applied to applied psychology this year and I’ll do the same when I transfer, this is your third time applying right?
@dino12487 yeah… i don’t know the exact stats for Stern, but I know they are low for external transfers. By any chance, do you know the specific numbers of the number of external transfers that get in? Also, I put down CAS as a another college I want to be considered for, but I don’t know if it’s worth going to CAS, if I do get in because I want to be a business major 8-|
