I finished my 50 question plus essay and double checked it, all in 15 minutes to prove I am really smart to him. He should give me a good recommendation. (Telling it how it is…)
Might also ask my ECON Professor for a letter of REC (My Major)
If my application is very competitive or complete trash, let me know! Honesty is the best answer!

I’m applying as a sophomore transfer to the government program in the CAS. I have international credentials so I have no idea what my chances are but any help would be appreciated. I also applied to Fordham and City College as backups.
I attended high school in the US (first two years at a public school) with a low gpa of 2.8
my final two years I switched to private school and attained a gpa of around 3.7 each year
After graduating high school I studied abroad in Rome, Italy and received 3 credits with a 3.5 GPA
I then studied International Law at the University of Amsterdam where I received my Propedeuse Degree (difficult to obtain) for passing every course and finished with a 3.6 GPA.
I have 40 college credits so don’t need to submit my test scores (which are 6 years old anyways).
I feel like I had a strong essay, I talked about my experiences abroad, and also how despite having a fatal illness (pulmonary embolism) during my final exams, I persevered and passed every course with high grades.
In high school I was a member of student leadership club, debate team, DECA, history club and environmental club.
I have a lot of work experience, as well as over 300 volunteer hours.
I was highly involved in Model United Nations, traveling around the world for the conferences and was invited to Harvard World Model United Nations for two consecutive years, one year co-sponsoring a resolution.
I was also a member of the international relations club at University of Amsterdam.
I am currently interning with the Republican Party of Wisconsin and get to attend conferences with notable politicians. I am not sure if I should email them so that they can add this to my file?
Outside of NYC I also applied to Northeastern, University of Texas, CU Boulder and University of Minnesota.
is it just me or has this years thread been considerably quiet than previous ones? Lol I’m not even applying till Fall 2018/Spring 2019 and I’m already nervous
Does anyone else not have everything checked off on their application status? I only submitted my application a week and a half ago so I’m not sure if that’s the reason why
@annadragon I’m not a transfer (just a RD applicant) but even when I submitted my application back in december, not everything was checked off on their application status for at least 2 weeks or so. It takes them a while to process everything and check things off of the list, so if you’ve already submitted everything, don’t worry about it! It’ll update soon enough
also @terr24lr check your spam folder, and if it isn’t there, then just try waiting a couple more days. It took NYU 1-2 weeks to send me my confirmation email when I applied. I’m pretty sure the only way to set up your albert portal is through the link they give you in their confirmation email. If you don’t get it within the next week though, I would try emailing them!
@indiahyland thank you (: @terr24lr it took them 5 days to send me the link to my albert account! I applied on march 17th and got my application acknowledgement email on march 22nd.
I feel like this year’s thread is so empty? Maybe not as many people applied this year… I know that’s not true but here’s to hoping!
What school did you guys apply to within NYU? I applied to Tisch as a film & tv major and I’m transferring from University of Pittsburgh! My college GPA is only a 3.0 unfortunately but i only have 12 credits so far (I decided to take this semester off for financial reasons.) I was originally a math major so i took statistics, calculus, and physics my first semester instead of gen-eds. As for test scores, my SAT is a 1960 and my high school GPA was a 3.7 UW.
I have 2 strong letters of rec and my portfolio is strong as well i think. I have lottsss of volunteer hours and dedicated extracurriculars. Hopefully they look at my application as holistically as possible what with my awful college gpa lol
