Btw, im a transfer applicant with more than 32 credits
@lillyJ678564 a few days? You’re also supposed to send in your transcripts for all the college you attended, your high school transcript, and other official scores to indicate you don’t need to send in an ACT or SAT. Nyu has a website dedicated to transfer requirements and you should see if you have all the things required.
@lillyJ678564 usually to send in HS transcripts it takes several weeks you’ll probably want to contact your high school counselor immediately. for my school i had to fill out a form and drop it off at my high school with 3 dollars. they sent out my transcript that day but it didn’t reach NYU for a couple weeks.
here’s NYU’s transfer page: https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/transfer-applicants.html it tells you everything you need to submit!
Im so worried
Guys, the secondary report (final report) – is my high school counselor suppose to fill that out?
@lillyJ678564 i didn’t send in the final report; i don’t think it’s required. i believe all you need is high school transcripts, SAT scores if you have under 32 credits, college transcripts, a letter of recommendation (submitted through the common app), and the college report!
no, i think you have to! it says so on the common app, and in email i sent to the admissions office a while back
I actually read that the final report is only for those who are admitted in :)! I guess when you are accepted, NYU likes to make sure you finish the semester strong.
College report I don’t know about. I read the “documents required” segment of the NYU transfer page and it didn’t state that we needed it, I also checked the Albert Portal and I didn’t find the requirement. I went to the page for “additional requirements” thinking that I might have missed something but I couldn’t find that the college report was required for CAS… I didn’t send it in so hopefully it’s not needed
@lillyJ678564 the final report for high school isn’t required for transfer applicants to NYU don’t worry! some schools like fordham DO require the secondary school final report, but not NYU. just because it’s on the common app doesn’t mean it’s required. NYU has all the required forms listed on their transfer website
UPDATE: i found a previous thread of someone asking if NYU requires the secondary school final report for transfers and apparently they do not require it. the person had called the office of admissions and they said no
you have to check with the specific school that you are applying to. for my case, Meyer requires my secondary school final report.
@annadragon Hey I’ll definitely make sure to subscribe to your channel. Also, the 32 credits you mentioned, is that including AP credits? I sent in standardized scores just in case but was just wondering if the 32 credit policy included AP credits.
Also good thing NYU does not require the high school final report. My high school said that they don’t fill out this report for students who graduated from high school
@rik123 ^ Nope, they have to be 32 credits from the college you’re currently enrolled in.
@annadragon. Thanks. I just checked a thread that also said the same thing. Does anyone know the fastest way to request my high school transcript?I have to wait until tomorrow anyway – so any suggestions?
Btw, I still have not received an “Albert ID,” and I submitted my transcript 9pm last night, 3 hours before the deadline. Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the email?
@lillyJ678564 you can check if your school is on Parchment. That’s what mine uses for transcripts, so it’s all electronic. If not though, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to visit the school.
I submitted my application 12/23, and received a net ID and university ID on 12/26. This would seem like an automatic process, because I doubt anyone was in their office between those dates.
Are you sure Parchment is legit? @mjr2013
My school doesn’t use Parchment, unfortunately
does NYU require a midterm report?
