I’m still puzzled about the secondary school final report. I don’t know if the requirement for the final report is needed before a certain school year (such as rising sophomores might be required to but rising juniors do not?) or if it’s absolutely determined by which program/school you apply for.
I was trying to see if it was needed for transfer applicants so I checked the Albert portal:
“Mid-Year and Final Reports for Freshmen Applicants
Even if your freshman application is complete, please submit a Mid-year Report (by March 1) and Final Report (by July 1), with an updated copy of your transcript. The Final Report is only required if you are offered admission. Both reports are accessible via the Common Application website and must be submitted with an official transcript. To access the Common Application website, click on the link above.”
And I checked everywhere else and the closest thing I got of needing a final high school report was this:
I emailed the admissions and he said that the mid-term report, the secondary school final report, and the college report (which I found out just now that it is absolutely needed) is required but when I called admissions a couple days before, the lady said the secondary school final report is not required in general?
NYU said that they’ll email us if we’re missing some documents so surely they would notify if me but I haven’t received anything since I submitted in the beginning of March.
@thecitystars same here! NYU did not email me about any missing documents. However, I know my application is lagging something because I’m not able to activate my net ID with the information they sent me. Also, I just sent in my HS transcript through parchment.
@thecitystars we’re not considered freshman applicants LOL we’re transfers! mid-year reports and final reports are for those who are coming in as freshman students to prove that they got good enough grades to keep their acceptance.
@thecitystars i would honestly not worry about it unless they email you… i’ve checked many past threads and people have said that the final report is NOT required for transfers. as long as you have your college report, SAT scores, college transcripts, and high school transcripts i really think you’re fine lol
@NYUhopeful_1198 right? I also checked my Albert portal admission checklist thing and it still said that all of the transcripts and standardized test scores have not been completed but it hasn’t been 4 weeks yet so I’m not about to panic just yet.
I’m going to call again on Monday. I think NYU accepts documents after the deadline for a limited time period so I am gonna see how long that’ll be and if the mid-term report and secondary school final report is needed depending on the school year of the student, program, or just in general.
@thecitystars i feel you :(( hardly any of my documents have been checked off on albert, but i think that’s normal. only my standardized test scores are checked off and i sent those in february lol i think they just have way too many applicants to get things done quickly.
this thread is so empty compared to threads from previous years lol maybe we’re the only ones that applied and we’ll all get in!! i’m joking but if that was actually the case i’d be so happy
When I first got my login credentials, it didn’t work for me initially. Then 2 days later it went through. My test scores were checked off first, then the other things got checked few weeks later. Not sure about the college report, but I guess I’ll email them just in case.
Yeah Im worried just like everyone on this thread and if we all get in, that would be great!! I guess in the mean time I’ll just strum my sitar to kill time ( yes sitar not guitar lol…)
@rik123 you play sitar? that is so cool! one of my aunts is a sitar player as well. This is exactly what happened with me! just my standardized test scores are checked off.
@annadragon haha so true, you or someone on this thread who gets in should come back and let us know how big the pool of accepted students are I always wonder how many people apply and actually end up getting in when it comes to transfers
@dino12487 I am sure that the transfer acceptance rate is different for different schools of NYU. Im personally trying for CAS, and I think the transfer acceptance rate for that is around 15-20%. But that may not be the case this year, who knows … :-S
