As the Fall 2017 semester wraps up in a couple weeks, it will be time to begin completing our applications. I don’t see an official thread yet so maybe we can all start posting on this thread! I will post my stats below in another comment.

I’m really worried because to be honest my GPA is very low. It is low because I was dual-enrolled at my CC in high school, where I slacked off and got 2 C’s and a D. However, ever since graduating from HS in Spring 2016 i’ve been on the Dean’s List (3.75+) every semester. (1 summer & fall-spring-fall)
Let me know if you think I have a good shot! I believe my essay to be strong. Good luck to all
College GPA: 3.4 (should rise next semester)

LOR:

I’m only worried about my GPA. I feel like my EC/Clubs are good, but my GPA could be higher. Crossing my fingers.

I am worried about the fact that I have been at three schools technically now the first two cc’s were due to health reasons. I had initially moved to nyc to go to bmcc for the NYU transfer program after not getting off the waitlist, but my health was in a terrible spot. I had the shot to go back to nyc with fordham good aid however I still do not think the program is what I want as a student. Does anyone know if your credits transferring over is a large issue to your acceptance determination? I took mostly GE’s some more specific design or media here or there.
Hey! Just wanted to let you know that your stats/ec’s are as good as it gets; if you are not submitting test scores I would say paired with a great essay, that you seem like a shoe-in!
Some schools are weird and will not let you apply as a transfer if you have been to more than two college-level institutions. Definitely email NYU Admissions to get a definitive answer. I would say that you are fine as long as you are sophomore standing in credits when you apply, and have not done more than 4 full time semesters.
Good luck with finals and best of luck as a fellow applicant!
I have an interview this month with NYU!!! My final grade came in for this past semester 3.89 baby!!! Goodluck everyone hopefully everyone has a great new year as well.
Current University: Average in state 4 year public university

Current College GPA: 3.82
ACT: Not submitting
High school GPA: 3.5

-Interned for two companies during New York Fashion Week in September 2017 and two companies for New York Fashion Week in February 2018
-Interned as an editorial intern for an online fashion publication
-Attended major events for Vogue Magazine and Glamour Magazine and wrote about them in online articles for my on-campus newspaper
-Created a fashion column within my on-campus newspaper and write as a paid staff writer
-Have a fashion spread within the on-campus magazine that I helped start
-Published a book on Amazon about my life as a fashion intern in NYC and my fashion industry experiences
-Treasurer of the sociology club
-Vice president of the women’s economics society
-Member of the district events committee Circle K
-Paid note taker for the disability support services on campus
What do you think my chances are? I’m hoping they appreciate my connection to the city and how that could be enhanced as an NYU student.
I’m currently a freshman in my second quarter at UC Davis trying to transfer to Gallatin… I got into the LS program out of high school but chose not to go…
High School GPA: 3.7 weighted
SAT: 1260
ACT: 26 or 27
College GPA: 3.667 first quarter, and my second quarter will end before the application is due so I have the potential to raise to 3.85
EC:
High School: CSF, NHS, Principal’s Honor Roll, Football 4 years, Volleyball 2 years, Student Council 2 years, Columbian Squire, over 200 hours of community service
College: the Filmmaking Club for our school
Job: 3+ years at a restaurant serving high profile customers
I was surprised that I got in in the first place but didn’t want to spend 75k on the Liberal Studies program for two years, so now I am applying because what the heck maybe I’ll get in
I’m applying for sophomore transfer. Here are my stats-
College: Top 70 Public Universities
GPA: 3.92
ACT: 33
Currently a double major in Honor’s College for Computer Science and Finance, but applying as Computer Science Major to NYU Engineering
Also applying to: Cornell, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, Steven’s Institute of Technology
EC’s:
Assistant Secretary of Finance Society
Chief of Finance for Honor Council
Treasurer of Muslim Student’s Association
Game Developer using Unity Software
Game Development Club member
Job:
Campus Manager for Fresh Prints (running a business that produces thousands of $ in revenue)
High School: Top 40 Nationally Recognized High School
GPA: 3.7 weighted
AP’s: AP Bio, AP Environmental, AP Psychology, AP European History (all 4’s) AP Statistics, AP Literature (These two are 3’s)
SAT Subject Test: Biology- 730
I have two strong recommendations and I might have an additional one just to bolster my chances.
I’ve been maintaining a high GPA for my college career since my high school GPA fell a bit short (Mostly due to low grades in freshman and sophomore year- I drastically improved them once I took school more seriously starting junior year). I’m relying on my EC’s, job experience, personal video game/development projects (I want to eventually open my own video game studio and pursue computer science research in a variety of topics at NYU), and strong essays.
