@angeleno13 Found it! Congrats, especially on getting accepted so early on! Must feel good to to get into your favorite school
Is admission for Fall 2018 transfers rolling? I read on the website that decisions release May-June but saw on the Blog that transfer admission is rolling.
Can someone let me know what they think my chances are for sophomore admission? NYU is at the top of my list and I’m pretty much banking on getting in.
College: University of Southern California Marshall School Of Business (transferring to Stern)
College GPA: 3.5 but I had orthopedic surgery at the end of the semester before finals so I’m hoping they’ll consider extenuating circumstances because it definitely wasn’t as high as I could have
College EC’s:
Job with the Athletic Deparment, working with financial information and donor relations
Member of the Club Soccer Team (starter and full-game player)
Member of Society of Women in Law
Member of Photography Club
Volunteer with organization that hosts an event to raise money for academic scholarships for disabled athletes nationwide.
High School GPA: 4.6 weighted/ 3.8 unweighted

ACT: 33 (35 superscore)
SAT Subject Tests: 750 Math 2, 620 Spanish, 690 US History

Accolades: National Hispanic Scholar, National AP Scholar, Teen Excellence Award from YMCAs of Metro LA, Scholar Athlete Award, Girls State Delegate from my high school
Letters of Rec:
I’ll probably get my letters from a professor into seminar class (<20 people) so she’s pretty familiar with me, and one from my Econ professor who I’ve had for 2 semesters now and take notes for the disability’s resource center for.
I didn’t even apply to NYU from high school but I’m really excited about it now. Let me know please! I’m just really hoping my gpa doesn’t kill me too much.
@soccertrojan22 I don’t think anyone here can tell you more than you already know. Your ACT is good, your HS is good and your GPA is low. Most likely they will consider your special situation, but nobody except admissions knows for sure. A competitive GPA at Stern is around 3.8+ and the transfer rate is below 10%.
How many credits have you taken at USC? I think having a second semester without any special circumstances will prove a lot.
@Vincent1997 I took 18 units last semester and am taking 18 again. I technically have 50 though, with my AP credit.
I’m applying for Steinhardt
here are my stats:
College: Community College
GPA: 4.0
Major: Psychology
EC’s
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Psi Beta Honor Society
High School: GED
Not submitting SAT/ Test Scores because I will be graduating with my AA this semester.
@angeleno13 hi i was supposed to transfer to bmcc this fall because of the NYU transfer program but my mom went there and talked to the advisor and they said something about the program being not available anymore? i dont get it because its still in the steinhardt website (cctop)
@tsestich53 how many college credits are you taking in total?
Currently a freshman at Shoreline CC - WA trying to get into MCC NYU Steinhardt but wanting to spend my first semester as a transfer at NYU Paris
Background:
International student (Asian)
OOS CC
Went to high school in home country
High School GPA: 3.7 weighted
Did not take SAT nor ACT
College GPA: 4.0 first quarter, my second quarter GPA will be due just before I submit my application
Hopeful of getting strong recommendations from my professors
EC:
High School: Vice President of Traditional Dance Club, Treasurer of Band Club
College: Red Cross Club, Indonesian Student Community Officer, Heroes Club, Note Taker for Students with Disabilities, Volunteer works
Testing my luck with sophomore transfer but if I don’t get in, I’ll try again for my junior year
@princessmatawee Hey there! I would call the admissions office I personally did not transfer using that, but I’m p sure CCTOP is still a thing. It’s part of the school of professional studies undergraduate app to mark off and I remember my mentor form BMCC who runs that program in comm saying it was still going. However I am not a 100% sure.
Hello everyone! I’ve been creeping for a little while, but I thought I’d include my stats They’re pretty basic in comparison to everyone else’s lol. I’m applying to the college of Arts & Sciences.
Second semester freshman
Current GPA: 3.4; I had a hiccup with a class, but nothing serious
EC’s: Foreign Language Tutor 25 hours/wk
Military Veteran
Gymnastics; not a part of an organized group
My predicament is kinda unique- I am enrolled in my second semester as a freshman, but I have approximately 50 credits due to military service, AP and CLEP testing. I am aware that NYU doesn’t typically accept credits from military service, I’m just stating this because my GPA is based solely on the last semester as all other credits that I have are not graded. I got one C which dropped me to a 3.4 (sucks right). I’ll be taking more classes this summer.
Hey guys, do transfers who will be coming in with their associate’s need to submit SAT scores? I’m applying to CAS Econ
@angeleno13 Congrats! Must feel great to get your result so early! Did you apply for spring transfer or fall transfer?
@sifhsn We are in the Fall transfer thread, so I’d say Fall
How long did it take for you guys to get your login/portal information? I applied three weeks ago and still haven’t received any login information to be able to check and see if all of my documents have arrived or the status of my app.
I just submitted last night @schoolgirl98, but generally it takes 5 business days - I would reach out to NYU and see what happened; could’ve been jumbled up since 3 weeks ago was right after holiday season. Good luck, everyone!
My NYU Albert says i’m missing a college transcript from Arizona State Law… anyone else have this glitch? I definitely did not go there, lol
hey congratulations! do you mind answering how you got your acceptance so soon? i thought that they were not releasing decisions until april, are they rolling from the moment you submit the application? congrats again!
