*NYU Fall 2018 Transfer Thread*

I called and asked. You can physically mail the midterm report yourself. I have no idea where other ppl are getting their info from.

You can scan and email your materials to admissions.docs@nyu.edu. It’s a lot faster than mailing it. But like @shrukin1 said, you can do it yourself, it says on the form to.

Interesting, my email was directly from someone in the admissions office. I guess i’ll email my midterm report as well as have my school send it (just in case). Thanks @colhopeful443 !

Guys what documents you are asked to submit?
I only submitted my high school and college transcript.
SAT score is waived since I have more than 24 credits.
Is it the same for everyone?
Thanks…

@inception97 depends on the school. i applied to CAS economics and i hav 54 credits completed, but still had to submit my SAT. generally; all you need to submit is high school and college transcript, and your college report.

But good luck to everyone!!!

@ssscarrrr78 Your ECs seem to be really promising and your college GPA looks good as well! I’d say you definitely have a shot. What’d you write about in your essay?

Only thing I’m not sure of is if NYU accepts more Uni or CC transfers. I know some universities are kinder to CC transfers (such as GW) rather than a transfer from an already highly-ranked Uni.

@niiniin I’m writing why I want to transfer and why NYU. Mostly why NYU’s phil department is probably a better choice for me than UPitt
Hopefully they still are lol

Hey I’m applying to both Tisch for photography and CAS for English. I applied my senior year and was waitlisted so hopefully that will help this time around. I submitted my application 3/1 but just got my portfolio in today. So far I’ve been accepted into Tulane with no rejections so I’m hoping I get into NYU.

I’ve been accepted to every university I’ve heard back from thus far. Applied to: Cornell University, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Texas-Austin, University of Washington, and many SUNY and CUNY colleges.

Good luck to everyone! I’m hopeful that we’ll get in

@zachsambition Everything about your application honestly seems perfect to me. I don’t see how they could deny you. Reading your credentials makes me even more worried about my own! ;(

I got some good news from Admissions though as they have received all of my paperwork, so now it’s just the waiting game for me.

@zachsambition hey Zach, you’ve already heard from Cornell? When? Congratulations on all of your acceptances. What’s your top choice?

@niiniin Thanks for your feedback! That is good news. The waiting part is always the hardest. At least we’re in it together.

@msport Thanks! I haven’t heard back from Cornell yet. If I’m rejected from a college it will likely be Cornell though, their CAS is extremely difficult to get into.

I’m not sure if I have a top choice honestly, if I had to rank them I think it would be: NYU = Cornell > UMich > Stony Brook University = UMinn > UDub = UT Austin > Other

It will be hard for me to make a decision because their psychology programs all rank similarly. Cornell’s program ranks slightly better but their concentration is in social psychology whereas NYU’s applied psychology

@niiniin Same here for me! Would you be able to chance me? My stats are on page 4.

@zachsambition I applied to Cornell as well but I did not hear back yet.

@zachsambition I called Cornell last week and apparently they are 3-4 weeks behind with the applications because of the flood of them coming in.

@cbabbinoNYU I’m not too sure, tbh. You’re asking someone who’s just as worried about their own application. However, the only thing, imo, they may give you a dink on is your HS GPA. It seems somewhat low, but how many college credits do you have? If you have a large amount they might not weight it as strongly.

Would anyone say only one letter of recommendation is a bad thing? I requested two of my profs to write them but one wasn’t able to because for some reason he never got the email. It was a whole ordeal.

@zachsambition can i know when did you hear back from umich because i am still waiting for decision?

@niiniin chance me please? :slight_smile:
