Got in Tisch Film and TV! Checked portal 9:30 am, never got email. Want everyone to know for the future:
Portfolio never got checked off;
Thursday April 19 got Housing Change, which to be specific was after logging into NYUHome clicked on Housing and the pictures had changed from just Summer 2018 to Spring 2018, Summer 2018 and Academic Year 2018-19, and I could access the full application for housing thru a link there;
Thursday April 19 got the FA change in stages- first got 2018, then 2019, then they changed the language next to those years to Inquiry Access Denied.
Finally a couple of days ago the Housing Portal on NYUHome added the words New York City over the words Non renewable Undergraduate.
Does nyu look at your overall GPA or the courses that transfer? I applied to the Rory Meyers Nursing Program and I have 96 credits completed with a 3.4 overall GPA. since only 64 credits transfer, do they look at my overall GPA or just the GPA of the classes that transfer?
Hey, accepted Tisch students: where do you find your financial aid award? I can’t access mine. I tried following the steps they provide and I can’t find an “applicant login” through the academic tab of NYUHome.
Also does anyone know when you find out your studio placement?
got denied from Tisch, but it was expected. My GPA was a 2.15 so it was a bit of a pipe dream LOL. I did not get an email to tell me I just happened to log on. I will be trying again next year though when my GPA is stronger and I have more of a portfolio.
@czheng they look at your overall gpa, and when deciding whether you’re fit for Rory Meyers, they’ll pay extra attention to the courses that relate to whatever you’re expected to learn (in this case nursing).
@Obscuretoo Thanks for the info! I dont have any of these changes and still haven’t heard back from film. So i am not really hopeing for anything atm. When did you submit your application? did you submit a short film or writing? Thanks!
@tdtdtdtdtdtd Common App submitted end of February, but portfolio uploaded 3/31. Submitted short film. Looked at a lot of posts, getting the changes was good, not getting any changes was meaningless.
For reference, I forgot to add that I was accepted as a photo and imaging major. I still don’t have any of the changes to my albert, but my portfolio checklist was marked off weeks ago. I’ve also been accepted to Boston University and Tulane (though I didn’t apply for photography) so now I’m just waiting on Georgetown. I was waitlisted at NYU in my senior year (thought I applied then to MCC) and afterwards I traveled and volunteered on a gap year across 6 countries and worked at an NGO as a photography and multimedia volunteer, which I think really set me apart.
@aumalija i still haven’t heard back from CAS yet!! Don’t be worried lol!! I just meant i had the “application status” page changed too. It happened to everyone they just took out the part that was addressed to 1st year applicants not like an actual change giving me a decision. I hope there’s a wave tomorrow for CAS bc i don’t think anyone has heard a decision from CAS this week yet which is when everyone was expecting to hear back
