*NYU Fall 2018 Transfer Thread*

I’m a Steinhardt applicant, MCC major, submited my app 3/20 and I still haven’t heard anything back :frowning: Congrats to everyone who has been accepted so far!

this is so unfair of them to keep us waiting for so long and possibly into june or august!

has anyone heard anything today?

@czheng

Not me-- applied to CAS for computer science on April 1. A couple people in this thread who are double-majoring in computer science and another subject have already gotten their decisions, though.

To also note, I haven’t seen anyone who is applying to major just in computer science alone at CAS get a decision. I really do think NYU admissions means it when they say decisions are rolling. There appears to be a correlation between majors/schools and when decisions for each respectively comes out, so it’s probably just a matter of when that department/committee meets.

I’m anxious like everyone else here. But also excited. I’m telling my boss today I’m quitting and moving to New York.
If NYU doesn’t work out, I’m probably going to do Queen’s College transfer track to Columbia for engineering.

I just really wish I knew already. My birthday is next week and I thought I’d know where I was going by then!

Does everyone else here have a backup plan if NYU doesn’t work out?

@czheng Not me - Steinhardt for MCC major.
@inmyCASket Aw that’s exciting  Where are you moving from? My backup plan is BU! I like Boston but prefer NY since I want to do media and where else is better to do media other than in NYC

Does anyone have an email for any of the admissions counselors? Do y’all know how I could get a hold of them individually?

Has anyone here been rejected by MCC yet? No judgment of course, i’m just curious. I’ve only seen people getting accepted lol

@inmyCASket I totally feel you. My birthday was May 1st, and I was hoping to get a decision by then, but I didn’t unfortunately. Congrats on quitting your job. I applied to Gallatin in February and haven’t heard anything yet. I am moving to NYC regardless as well. I got into The New School, which is also in Greenwich Village.

any MCC rejections on here?

Has anyone heard from Steinhardt?

for the steinhardt applicants on here: i’ve been doing some peering around on the 2016/2017 thread and in 2016, steinhardt heard back May 16, May 25, and as late as June 1st. in 2017, a bulk of steinhardt applicants also heard back around the same dates, but the latest june acceptance came out June 06. also, the acceptances in 2016 came out around the morning time (6AM). i know that a few steinhardt applicants have heard back already on this thread, but this post is just to serve as another possible bulk wave for the rest of us waiting.

Anything on Stern

To those who’ve been accepted, have you already been assigned an advisor? And are your transfer credits evaluation completed? I intend to attend summer session starting early July so I could get a real NYC experience before studying abroad in Paris, and I really need my advisor to help me with my curriculums.

@richardli779 HEY! Best of luck! what have you applied for to NYU? and what were you studying in NEU?

@medschooldreamer sure! I submitted my application the day they were due. This is my 3rd transfer and I’ll be transferring as a junior. I hope this helps, especially for anyone who wants to transfer and thinks that they have low SAT scores.
