@XeraphiX Most join the conversation once the first people receive decisions. Nevertheless, less competition for Stern would be phenomenal! haha
@Vincent1997 I heard that Stern only accept handful of outside transfer applicants, I mean 1-3 typically. Most of accepted applicants were either successful young entrepreneurs or traders lol… Yeah… Stern could be pretty hard to get in. There was a guy in last year thread got in. He said he had a business profits over 2 millions something… Pretty crazy
Yeah lol… I am doing pretty well as a trader, but I didn’t want to write numbers into the application. I wonder if I should’ve had. I wrote that I can pay for my tuition from my profits and that I performed better than the indexes.
@XeraphiX Ouch. I mean I knew Stern was tough for outside transfer applicants, but I didn’t think they’d be that selective. I got in to Steinhardt as a senior in HS but couldn’t afford it. Now I’m applying to Stern as a transfer. Good luck to you!
I’m also applying to Stern and someone from admissions told me they’re very selective and if I remember correctly, about 20 spots offered to external transfers. I replied thanks and but what I really wanted to say was, “then I guess the first spots mine.” Haha, just some faith and trust, now let’s see how this goes.
Is it true that if you choose Stern as your primary choice then they don’t even bother looking at secondary? I put Gallatin as my secondary choice, but from what I’ve read it doesn’t even seem to matter…
@niiniin I did as well and put CAS for my third choice, not sure though
@SammyDKMV Wait, there was a third choice option? Lol.
@niiniin lol, apparently so, I even went back to the Common App to double check to make sure I wasn’t just imagining it.
@SammyDKMV I went and checked mine as well and it only shows me options for primary choice, secondary choice, and if I would like to be considered for NYU’s Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies. I’m really confused!
i need decisions to be out asap, thanks
@niiniin That’s strange, lol
Definitely ready to get all my decisions back, even though I sent in my app the morning of 3/31, haha
@niiniin I was only able to apply for a secondary choice as well. I didn’t see an option for a third
@transfer9692 haha friend this is so last minute af. which college did you apply to?
@msport the NYU counselor i talked to told me the decisions will for sure be released before june
@niiniin and @zachsambition I went back to my Common App and they seem to emphasize alternate options, it looks like this:
If we cannot admit you to the school, college, or program above, we may consider you for alternate options. Please select any alternate options below that interest you in the event we are not able to admit you to your primary program of interest. We ask that you do not arrange an audition or submit a portfolio for any alternate choices unless invited to do so.
Then it lists the options I selected: College of Arts and Science, Gallatin School of Individualized Study
Now I’m wondering what’s up, lol
@burgerdebambi I knowww haha. In HS I applied to Steinhardt but now I applied to Stern. How about you??
I just submitted my application for NYU yesterday. I did not submit my SAT/ACT scores. Did you guys submit yours??
I didnt
